Please tell me the throwing up will stop
I'll be 8 weeks tomorrow. The throwing up is getting worse and it comes at all times. I'm not bad enough for zofran I'm staying hydrated. It just hurts. If I'm not throwing up I'm dry heaving or just feeling nauseas. Bleh.

That's where I am at right now too. It stinks. I don't want to take any drugs either. Hang in there... With my son this ended around the 2nd trimester. It just wasn't this bad.

If you can not function and throwing up at all times it may be something to consider. I couldn't keep down a meal or liquids so I started taking it and it made a huge difference. I even dry heaved less. I am 20 weeks and still feel the same way so I am still taking it. Hopefully yours ends soon......but if it gets worse I would consider it for sure since it is safe to take

Re: Please tell me the throwing up will stop
I was staying hydrated but was constantly throwing up just about the entire month of July. Thank God I was on summer vacation, because I can honestly say I could not function...some days could not eve get off the couch. If it is constant I would ask about Zofran like the previous poster said. I feel that my doctor would not give me anything that would hurt the baby. I am at week 17 and still taking it. I get sick from time to time and still get nauseous here and there. Overall it has been a life saver. feel better.

I had to take zofran this pregnancy (I would cut the pills in half and only take them once I felt horrible symptoms or if I was already throwing up -- they take effect in 20-30 minutes so I'd take a half a pill, lay down and try to tough it out until it kicked in). I wasn't able to function and I have a toddler at home I have to take care of. I was throwing up 24/7 without the zofran from 5.5 weeks on. It finally ended around 21 weeks.
My first pregnancy, I started throwing up at 9.5 weeks and it stopped at 14 weeks like someone flipped a switch.
Everyone is so different. I was able to handle it my first pregnancy because somehow after I'd throw up every morning, I felt better and could function and go about my day. But this pregnancy was so much worse and there was no way around it. I feel lucky there is something available that's safe that can be taken so I could keep myself hydrated, fed, and healthy for growing the baby.
