Are you registering for one even if you are not using if for you LO to sleep in at night in lieu of a bassinet?

Re: rock n play
I already have one for DD but I would. With her I registered for a bassinet and the RnP. I planned on her sleeping mostly int he bassinet and using the RnP for daytime and travel. Well she had other ideas. . . She really didn't like the bassinet at all and slept SO much better in the RnP. I still made a point to put her in the bassinet some nights and for some naps just so she wouldn't be totally dependent on the RnP. At 3 months we made the switch to the crib, although if she was having a rough night we'd go back to the RnP. Hope that helps!

Re: rock n play
I'm not sure if my baby will be going right in the crib or in the RnP for the first few weeks, but I wanted the RnP either way. I figure it's a great place to nap and portable enough to sleep in at Grandma's or while away skiing etc.

Re: rock n play
We got it b/c everyone swears by it. Whether it's just for napping, or even as a travel bassinet, I figure it would go to good use, esp if the baby is colic-ey - seems like this is a godsend for lots of parents!

My friend raved about it and we put it on our registry and got it. We didnt set it up as of yet but I think it would be good to use since its small and portable.

Re: rock n play
DS doesn't seem to last very long in there at night now, but I use it for naps during the day. I really like it, especially since DS has reflux and seems more comfortable in an elevated position.

Re: rock n play
YES DO IT!
it is the best thring to throw in the car to take to friends/family homes.
We would go out to watch movies with friends, bring the rock and play and put him to sleep in an adjacent room. ALWAYS worked like a charm

Okay sorry for my ignorance...lol.
If you register for a swing do you also need a RnP?? If you do not have a lot of space then which is better?

Re: rock n play
LO will be probably be sleeping in her/his crib right away; but I still registed for the RNP. I thought it would be good to have-for naps in the living room-trips to Grandparents etc.

Re: rock n play
because of all the high recommendations i really wanted to register for this but my dr told me it was not necessary. I really wish I had not listened to him. 3 months later or so I bought it, desperate. and it was the first time the baby didn't wake every 2 hours, he slept 5 straight hours!!! I LOVED the RnP.

a swing will swing by its self and the rnp does not. a rnp is more similar to a bassinet. my baby never liked his swing!! do you have a family member you can borrow from and see if baby likes it before buying? they also have bouncy chair/vibrates and a swing all in one to self that kind of space.
