baby is super low and kicking!

im 26 weeks, and i felt him move super low the other day and no sooner did i feel him move, i started getting super painful kicks or whatever he is doing down "there". also in my belly button but more down below. i was at a normal appointment this week and they did a sono to be sure the pressure i was feeling along with the kicks was nothing wrong and it wasnt so basically im just wondering if anyone has tips on how to get him to move from that position?

its so so painful that i jump from the pain everytime. its not like he needs to be that low this early.

i tried shaking my belly up actually and that didnt work and then tried putting a really cold ice pack down low to see if he would move. nothing.

help!!!

ps- is this "lightning crotch"? lol

So his legs are definitely down there and his head is up? If so, you can do some "baby spinning" techniques which will help him flip into position and also relieve some of that. What I liked to do was to kneel on a couch and then reach way over and put my arms on the floor (kinda like a tilted plank position) and you stay like that for 30 seconds at a time. Another thing to do is to put an ice pack up at the top of your belly and hold it there for a little while. These are both exercises the encourage the baby to flip. I've also heard that playing music or shining a flashlight down at the bottom of your belly can help because they will tend to move themselves towards the music or the light.

I did all this because I found out DS was breach at 27 weeks and wanted him to flip. By 34 weeks he did. Chat Icon

I'm going to try the ice pack to move my babies up so they stop breaking my pelvic bones. Chat Icon

IME no that's not lightning crotch - at least not what *I* described lightning crotch as! When I had it, it had nothing to do with the baby kicking - it was just sharp shooting random pains in the V. Chat Icon

Re: baby is super low and kicking!

probably the legs doing it. I went for a sono at 26 weeks and they said he was literally dancing on my bladder and cervix so that's why I felt it like that!
