Help me fix DD's sleep schedule...

So we've recently been putting almost 4 month old dd to bed every night at about 8pm. She gets a bottle right before (someimes drinks it all sometimes not depending on when she last ate). She sleeps through the night pretty well, but then wakes up at 4-5am for a feeding. I can't complain because she slept 8-9 hrs at that point. She'll take the bottle and then go back to sleep for aprox another 3 hours.

My question is... Any way to get her to wake up at 6am instead? I need to be up with her at that point and it would make for a better nights uninterrupted sleep for mommy Chat Icon

You can try to push her bedtime to 9pm and stretch the bottles a little longer while you are transitioning.

This is pretty much my girl's schedule too. I was thinking maybe giving her the last bottle a little later, so she'd sleep a little later- but I haven't tried it yet.

I thought of doing this. Its really the only logical step, buttttt ive heard from so many mommies out there that for some reason, with earlier bedtimes, their children sleep longer. It seems to make no sense. I'm afraid to do it thinking she's going to get up at 2-3am instead

Try doing it tomorrow night instead of a week night. This way if it doesn't go well you can try again Saturday. If both nights do not go well then you know it just won't work.

def try pushing the last bottle up a little bit like 9 pm. my dd is only 7 weeks but shes goes to bed late unfortunately, like 11pm but wakes up at either 6 or 7 for a bottle and then goes back to sleep. Im trying to get her to go to bed earlier !! past few weeks shes been going to sleep at 12 !!

We had her going to sleep 11pm for the longest time. Then we decided that we need a life again lol so we just boosted it up to 8pm. Didn't do it gradually but she thankfully took to it right away. I think she was ready and it's what she needed. Watch for some signs. 7 weeks may still be too early though. Once dd started going 8-9 hours with no feedings, I knew shed be ok. We were also waking her for her last 11pm bottle and shed be so tired she barely ate! She was done for the night At 8pm which we thought was a nap Chat Icon

Honestly. I can change DS bedtime but he still gets up at the same time. They have an internal clock just like we do and they wake for a reason. I would just let it work itself out.

She's still pretty young...she's just hungry. In a couple of months it'll get better but for now you may just have deal.

How much is she eating during the day? Maybe increase the amount she eats during the day and she won't be looking to eat at night.
