Questions to ask Pediatrician

Hi ladies - I am planning on making an appt to meet with a pediatrician that we plan on using when the twins arrive...anyone have some good questions to ask...TIA

For me, I wanted to know how long wait times usually are, if same day appointments are generally available, what the procedure is for calling the help line both during business hours and after-hours (and if there's a charge), is there an LC on staff, general policies about vaccines and flexibility, among other things.

We got to a 7 (or maybe now 9) doctor practice so I wanted to know how easy it was to see the same doctor for every appointment (but I do like the flexibility if there's a need for a sick visit that someone qualified is available every day). Also do they have Saturday hours (and can you do a well-visit on a Saturday, if you need to). Ours has an early-morning before-school clinic every weekday so if your kid wakes up with a sore throat or fever, you can bring them in as a walk-in patient and the peds can give you the OK for school or not, which I think is really cool even though DD won't be heading to school for several more years lol.

I looked through some of the questions but when I met with the pediatrician I didn't bring a list. He seemed to know everything a new mom would want to know and I asked a few of my own questions on the spot. Good Luck!
