Dr Gustavo San Roman
Hi girl,
I've been in the hunt for a new obgyn since I recently found out I'm pregnant. I've read a lot of ur reviews for ob-gyns and I was already set to contact Dr Gustavo San Roman to make an app but then I found out there's a lawsuit against him for delayed care giving for a c-section. Do u girls know anything about this?

Dr Gustavo San Roman
I've been going to him since about half way through my pregnany and I think he and his practice are great. He's so patient and thorough, and the midwife he works with, Michelle Mayer, is great too! I feel like I will be in good hands with them when it comes time for me to deliver.

He's my doctor too. He's amazing. I looked at the lawsuit. The one thing that stood out is that there are other doctors involved including Dr. Kramer. He was my old doctor who is no longer part of the practice with Dr. San Roman, so I believe the suit needed to be against the entire practice at the time, involving Dr. San Roman.
The entire staff there is amazing.

I absolutely love him....He delivered my last 2 babies...
I do recall reading something about a lawsuit he was a part of but if I remember correctyly in reading further, he was not the only doctor that was named in the case...Unfortunately due to the abuse of malpractice ,I personally feel that you cannot gauge a doctor soley on one claim against them...I'm sure if you set up a consult he would be happy to discuss it with you...He is beyond sweet, a father of 7 children himself and he and all of his brothers are doctors (one of them being the RE's office who got me pregnant..LOL)

I agree with the other girls as far as the lawsuit. I worked for him from 1998-2004 and never heard a complaint about him. I trust him 100% and wouldn't see anyone else other than him and his np/midwife Michele mayer.

i just read the entire lawsuit. it seems that Dr Fromberg was at fault, along with the nurses for not going up the chain of command and getting another doctor to intervene earlier. They also applied fundal pressure because of dr frombergs verbal order when they should not have. The only thing San Roman is named for in the case is not starting the emergency c-section because it was not his patient. when there is a true obstetrical emergency, the patient is EVERYONE's patient. There should have been an obstetrical emergency policy in place at the hospital and it seems that there wasn't. Buit in my opinion, as a nurse, when there is an emergency, it is EVERYONE's responsibility to intervene. i don't know dr san roman, but have heard wonderful things about him. since this lawsuit, i am sure that policies and procedures have since been put into place. I would not look at this lawsuit and think ill of him. Dr Fromberg is a different story. but unless you live in SoHO you don't have to worry about running into her.
