Flying with 14 week old
We are leaving tomorrow on the red eye from Portland OR to JFK with our LO. First time on a plane and Im nervous since its a long flight.
Is it ok if she's sleeping during take off? I worry about her ears popping and if she sleeping then she obv. can't suck anything.
How do you change baby's diaper on a long flight? The bathrooms are not big enough!
Lastly, I assume TSA will not give me a hard time if I bring a mini cooler with her pre made bottles?
TIA

Re: Flying with 14 week old
If she's sleeping during takeoff that's fine. My DD has slept an entire flight! It was amazing. Make sure you have paci, bottle, sippy to alleviate any pressure if her ears start bothering her. Bring a new toy to distract her--something with lights/music is usually good.
The changing table in the plane bathroom is bigger than you think!! And 14 weeks old is still tiny. Maybe try an overnight diaper so you only need to change once (hopefully!)
The TSA won't have a problem with you bringing bottles. I find if you have a baby they let you get away with a LOT. However they will likely open them and test what's inside. If you're not ok with that, I suggest bringing powder, buying a bottle of water after security, and making the bottles in the waiting area.
Good luck!! She'll do great!! DD had taken 3 round trips by 12 months and only 1 leg of one trip was tough. Otherwise we all were fine

sleeping during takeoff/landing is ideal!! changing diapers on the plane is much easier than you think, esp if shes only 14w. we had no issue changing my 8m old on the plane even though i was nervous about it. i dont think you will have an issue with bottles, but we just filled them with powder and bought water once past security. people in the airport are definitely nicer to you when you are flying with the baby!!

Re: Flying with 14 week old
I flew with my son when he was 3 weeks old. He slept through most of the flight. I did give him his bottle during takeoff and landing to help with the ears. Although it is difficult, there really is nowhere else to change them other than the bathrooms. The security had no issue with the formula. However, they might need to check them depending on the size of the bottle.
