GD girls

Pls don't judge, I need to vent. How often do you have a cheat day or cheat meal? I have a few readings (umm several) in the 140s here and dr. said it is not a big deal if I know why it was high. I am just finding I am starting to slip a lil more than normal. The other day I had a belly ache and all I wants for lunch was a vanilla shake so I got one. Today I had too much pasta and a piece of strawberry pie at DH's aunts house. I find parties or being at people's houses or business meals are the hardest. Ugh. Dr said not to sweat it but I still feel nervous I am doing damage. I am 34 weeks, up 25lbs ans belly measures on target or even small like 1 week behind.

I dunno I need to get strict again but all I want these days is icecream. I have barely had any cravings but lately it is bad and I am hungry. And I dream of eating 5 cartons of blueberries and a whole watermelon, french fries, pretty much anything I cannot have ughhh. Why is this happening and do I new a beatdown. I almost wish th dr did yell at me.

i wouldn't necessarily call it cheating when I wanted too much pasta or had some ice cream. When I craved pasta, I found a way to still have my pasta and get a decent number by loading my pasta with tons of protein.

As for the ice cream, i would limit myself to one day a week and one bowl, where I knew my numbers would be higher. After speaking with my dr a few times about it, he said it was better to indulge in moderation every once in a while, then completly deprive yourself, since if you do give in, most likely you wil go overboard and make your numbers spike significantly.

Ok thanks you are def making me feel better. I guess next time I do have a lil pasta I will be sure to have more protein. I am also getting my icecream fix through a 20 carb icecream sandwich. But as soon as i am done with it I just want another ugh. Anyway I do good most of the time but lately I just am craving so many bad things!!! It is getting hard!

the nurse told me, its ok to have an occasional day- but if it was consistent then I would be given the pill.... I lost weight from the GD and am only up 3lbs overall now at almost 34 weeks, baby measuring 1 week ahead.

At night I have the 1/2 cup(using a measuring cup) of breyers vanilla or strawberry or weight watchers icecream..... I think thats why I don't feel deprived during the day plus it helped my fasting number.

I saw a diff dr. in my practice today and he gave me more of a "warning" and I am actually glad. He just said I need to be stricter and did not like see pasta and strawberry pie in my journal. Eek.
