is this ok? worried about PTL *update
I started having bh at around 26 weeks which was just a tightness in my belly... for the past week or so-im 32w6d- I've been having cramps in my lower adomen-like AF is going to show any second... it comes and goes but does get uncomfortable at times. It feels like (sorry for TMI) like im about to have diarrh** but I dont.
Dr kind of dismissed it b/c the monitor wasn't picking up contractions.. what is causing it then? Im starting to get nervous.
Should I push the issue? everything looked ok at my last appt (thursday) but I also didnt have a cervix check.
Im getting nutty.
**I called the Dr this morning. He told me to drink 5 glasses of water, take a hot shower and 2 tylenol. I didn't take the tylenol ut I did everythign else... Im still having the contractions every 40-50 mins. If they increase in # per hour, I have to call back. For now, it last about 1.5 mins.. So hubby reminded me to practice breathing. Its crazy how my body is literally preparing for what's to come!

I have the same thing which they said is normal. I know this doesn't help much since we see the same doctors!

Could be dehydration. Could be just your body practicing. Last pregnancy I had crazy crazy BH for weeks and weeks, then a very speedy L&D with DD. This pregnancy, my BH has been way way way lower -- like way deep down in my pelvis. It's so confusing! I know I'm not drinking nearly enough water, even though I try. It could just be that one of the babies has settled in pretty low down and is pressing on things causing the reaction. Doesn't mean they're coming out soon, though. If it keeps happening, definitely let them know and see what they recommend. It could just be hiccups or something and with where the lower baby's head is, it's causing all these reactions. Just a thought. But your doctor definitely knows best! Hope you feel better!

I've been having tons of contractions too and the doctor said as long as it's not accompanied by other things (shortening of cervix etc) it's normal. He said since the uterus is a muscle, it contracts, especially in my situation of stress and dehydration. Take it really slow and drink lots! I had no idea it was *so* normal

Re: is this ok? worried about PTL
I was told our hips are widening (just what I need lol) and the babies getting bigger will add pressure. Especially if they are on the cervix.
Ive had these and other cramp pains throughout and they said its ok as long as my cervix is ok. I know that it is dehydration at times since it goes away when I drink water.
Why dont they check your cervix at each appointment?? From what my Dr tells me, they check it often especially with twins since it can go from bad to worse very quickly. Mine was 40 from at lease Monday to thursday then 32 the following monday which was going down to 28 when A was putting pressure on.
