What does the hospital give you during L&D
I'm just starting my list of things to pack in my hospital bag but i feel like it's a ridiculous list. I feel like the hospital will provide most of the things i have (i hope).
Can i just leave any of the following things at home or should i actually bring them with me?
-- Nursing pads / lanolin cream
-- PJs
-- underwear
-- sleep gowns
-- slippers
-- socks
-- toothbrush / toothpaste
-- hair brush
-- q-tips
-- lotion / moisturizer
-- mirror (for putting on makeup / doing my hair)
-- hat, socks & mittens for the baby
-- receiving blanket for the baby
i'll be delivering at LIJ in Manhasset, if it makes a difference

I think they give you hats and blankets for the baby. You would just need an outfit for coming home. Maybe mittens. And maybe just bring a small mirror to do makeup in your bed since there will be a mirror in the bathroom. Im sure they give you some toiletries too but you might want your own brands.

What does the hospital give you during L&D
I just delivered there. They def give you packages of nursing pads, regular pads, the underwear, some gowns, towels and socks that resemble totes with the non skid bottoms. There was lotion in the bathroom and a wall hairdryer. For the baby, they give you blankets, hats and shirts with the closed hand area (we brought mittens for coming home time).
I brought shampoo/ conditioner/soap, mirror for when I didn't want to get up, flip flops, toothpaste and brush, hairbrush...

I know a lot of people prefer their own but I also don't feel like packing a lot!

What does the hospital give you during L&D
The hospital does not let you take home any baby linens - clothes/blankets....... so you'll need to bring the going home one....
nursing pads and lanolin samples they should give you.
