Breech baby & Dr. Trongone
So, at 37w3d we found out the baby is breech and my amniotic fluid is on the normal/low side. The tech (Anna from NSUH - Manhasset) was almost certain that DD wasn't going to turn even with a version because she is too big and there's not enough fluid in there for her to easily move around.
We will see Dr. Trongone tomorrow to figure out the next step, but it looks like a c-section is in my future. I wonder if he'll be able to do it next week when I am 38w+ or if we have to wait until I hit 39 w?
Anyone have a similar experience? Any thoughts/advice? Thanks ladies!

Re: Breech baby & Dr. Trongone
Hope your kiddo turns, I am attempting a version at 37w 6days, but they might not be able to squeeze me in until 38w 2d. with normal fluid. My Dr seemed really positive about getting to turn. Today I am having a acupuncturist come over and do Moxibustion (my Dr.s recommendation), and calling a chiropractor too. Maybe your Dr might be a little more optimistic. Good luck.

Re: Breech baby & Dr. Trongone
Mine were not breech - but I have had 2 C sections w/ Dr. Trongone and he is w/o question the BEST - I'm sure by now you know his demeanor is totally calm and non alarmist - but he's even better in the OR.
Everyone who checked my incision said "Oh, you're Dr. Trongone's patient' apparently, he's known as the best in the hospital for sewing you back up
I also had very easy recoveries (not sure if that had anything to do w/ him, me being lucky, or having a high pain tolerance and not thinking it was a huge deal ......)
Just some info to ease any worry/anxiety you may have about the C section
Good Luck!

This does make me feel better, thank you! We'll see how it all pans out, maybe she'll turn, but if not, then at least I am confident I am in good hands

I had version with DD at about 37 weeks - normal fluid - and was successful. It only took about 2 minutes. My doctor was very gentle. It's either going to work or not and the dr will know pretty quickly and won't force it.
Good luck!

Re: Breech baby & Dr. Trongone
I found out I had a breech baby at 37 weeks. I was not allowed to have a csection prior to week 39 since there was no other problems. The dr said its a rule the hospitals have. But if your fluid is low they may ok a 38 c section.
I choose not to have the baby turned from the outside based on my dr's decision and what I read. From what I was told it also depends on the type of breech position. My son was footling breech.

No experience with breech but Dr. Trongone did three c-sections for me and he was the best- I totally agree- very calm, great demeanor, VERY easy recoveries and great stitching back up!
