Honestly it depends on brand, especially for Shampoo & Conditioner. You can get a bottle of White Rain for $.79 but for something like L'Oreal Eversleek, if I can get it for around $4, that's good.

Paper Towels & TP - I've gotten for around $3 for a multipack -- like a 6 pack of paper towels and an 8 pack of TP

Laundry Detergent - unless you use ALL or Tide, you can get a bottle for next to nothing. I seriously have about 7 bottles in my laundry area that I got for no more than $1.50 each (some as low as .75) but it's Purex or Fab. Wisk sometimes can be cheap - I've gotten it as low as $1.50.

Toothpaste - under $1 for Colgate or Aim.

This is a list that someone created about prices. A lot of times where it says free, it's because they also received catalina coupons for their purchase.
Link to prices Like I've gotten "free" Pantene but I paid like $5 and then got a $5 coupon for a future purchase.

For example, what is a good price for things like
paper towels--I try and never pay more then 2.99 for an 8 pack.
toilet paper--usually free at CVS using ECB. I am brand loyal to scott extra soft
laundry detergent--you can get this for free for cheeper brands. I usually get wisk for about $1.50 a bottle
toothpast---always free. never pay for toothpaste. Combing coupons and ECB at CVS
mouthwash--Same as toothpaste
shamppoo--same as toothpaste
conditioner---same as toothpaste

I commented above.
I highly recommend livingrichwithcoupons.com and afullcup.com
There is tons of information on pricing on these sites

start writing things down. And break it down to weight or per piece, etc.

For example, when I buy diapers, it's cheaper for me to buy Target diapers (17 cents each) than to buy Huggies on sale and with a coupon. Or recently, Target had a sale on formula (buy two get a $5 gift card). It was actually a better deal to buy two smaller tubs than the large. Whereas you usually think you are getting a better deal on larger/bulk sizes.

And things like toothpaste, shamppo, etc., people think it's cheaper to buy at the $1 Store, but if you buy it on sale, it can be 89 cents or less.

Start concentrating on one item and price it around.

Take a small notebook and a pen with you to the grocery store. Write down the brand name/size and the price. Prices of items are generally on a 13 week cycle. If you purchase common household items made by advertisers that provide coupons you can try to time it to use the manufacturer coupon with the lowest price point available for the item. Then to get a good deal you need to be able to purchase/store/use the items until the next time they are on sale. I would look at your store circular to see what is on sale. I also like living rich with coupons. FB friend her to get the weekly sales and deals. HTH

On Living Rich's store matchups, she puts a green checkmark next to deals that are a good stock up price.

I'm not serious into couponing.I wish i could but I lck patience. i DO look at unti price though. I have learned that several things are MUCh cheaper at the wholesale clubs, plsu ten they have coupons in their books, and at BJ's you can use other coupons.

Some things I buy exclusively from BJ's and Costco:

Toilet paper
Paper Towels
Tissues and napkins, though I use them less frequenty.
Coffee
Laundry detergent (I won't use wisk, fab, etc. I use All free and tide free) and other launfry needs (Oxy clean, dryer sheets)
Dish soap.
Razor blades
Toothpaste.

There are other things bt it dependson the individual. I use a lot of liquid egg whites so it makes a lot of sense for me to buy it in larger packs. Also, tofu. it's $3.99 for a 2 pack at Costco whereas at the grocery store they are at least $3 each, so it really works out.
