I know a lot of this is perosnal taste but does anyone LOVE their appliances? We are redoing the kitchen so need all new. Definitley want stainless. Will be doing a wall oven (undecided on whetehr to do single or double). I think I want a counter depth french door fridge. Also need cooktop, microwave, and dishawasher.

There are so many choices, reviews, etc. I would appreciate any advice!

Also, if you did one suite all same manufacturer, are you glad you did? Should we get best of each brand and mix it up?

Re: Appliances

Most of the time people are matching in order to get a package deal with one manufacturer. I recommend selecting the best brands and and base purchases on features you want within your budget. Here is an article I wrote that may help: How to Select Appliances Within Your Budget: 3 sample kitchen packages for high end luxury, mid-range and budget

The guys over at Appliance World in Huntington have an amazing showroom where you can see the products in person. They are very knowledgeable and can help guide you through the process. Have a good look at the combi steam ovens - they can do so much. Best of luck.

We got all GE profile appliances for our new home but we haven't used them yet. Moving in next week.

Because we selected more than three GE appliances we got back a $300 rebate from GE. We bought everything from PC Richard.

Our kitchen designer recommended Appliance World in Huntington but ultimately they never got back to us. We were willing to purchase especially since they work hand in hand with our kitchen designer and it would have made coordinating delivery much smoother and easier. Guess they didn't want our business. The fact that they never got back to us as they promised left a sour taste in my mouth. I did not want to purchase from an unreliable company. So I took my business to PC Richard.

I went separate and I love what I picked out. It also color matches well too can't really tell a difference.

Wolf 48" range
Samsung counter depth French door fridge
Kitchen aid dishwasher (best dishwashers IMO)
Sharp drawer under cabinet microwave.

I went with the Samsung counter depth French door fridge, Bosch cooktop, oven microwave combo and dish washer. I've only had them a month, so far no complaints.

I really like the profile line. Let me know how you like them once you move in!

If you get a French door fridge I'd stay away from the kind with the freezer on the left and fridge on the right. They are horrible for storing any larger platters or big cakes. Also stay away from GE, ours is 2 years old and has needed to repaired twice. Once we lost all our food and most recently the ice maker broke. In the past I've always bought frigidaire and I like that brand. Never had a problem with any frigidaire appliances

You're thinking of the side-by-side. The French Door fridges are fridge on top, and freezer on the bottom, just with French Doors for the top fridge. It's still the full width.

GE has good reviews and bad reviews, just like every other brand. If you do a search on any brand out there, there will be tons of people who hate that brand, including Frigidaire.

Consumer Reports has GE and Frigidaire basically even on brand reliability.
