Anyone else 39 weeks???

How are you feeling? Are you having any symptoms? Want to wait it out together??

I'm 39 weeks today. At my last dr's appt I was 2 cm dilated and 80-90% effaced. Because my cervix is so thinned out, they don't THINK I'll make it to my due date but who knows. I've lost most, if not all, of my plug, been crampy on and off, lower back is starting to hurt a lot more, contractions are more painful when they come... I've been soooooo patient throughout my entire pregnancy and have felt like it has flown by but now I just CANNOT WAIT to meet my little boy and I'm getting extremely anxious.

Meee! I was 39 on Wednesday. I am feeling exactly the same as you! All of the same symptoms and I cannot roll over in bed without extreme pain! I too had a great pregnancy but I want baby to be here like yesterday!! I can't take not knowing when it'll happen! The anxiety is killing me!

My doc hasn't done an internal. He does a sono at every appt and baby has been head down face down for a few weeks now!! I hope it's soon for both of us!!

Oh wow you get a sono every week?! That's fantastic. I'd love that bc I hear such scary stories of amniotic fluid being too low, etc., and I wonder what if that's happening with my baby and I never knew it?!

And oh my gosh I know what you mean about turning over in bed - it is torture!!! It feels like every ligament I have in my abdomen is being torn in half. It's just awful! But I need to keep turning in bed because when I lie on one side for long enough, my hips are killing me. Hope we have our babies so so soon!!!

I will be 39 weeks on Tuesday and I am only 1 cm dilated and like 20% effaced since 37 weeks. I haven't lost any of my mucous plug and am just so uncomfortable. The rolling over in bed is torture and I have been crampy the last couple days as well. I hope it comes soon for all of us. Trying not to complain b/c it took a while for me to get pregnant and I have enjoyed it up until now but I am so done.

I know what you mean. It didn't take long for us to get pregnant but I personally know (friends/family) women who are unable to get pregnant so I haven't been complaining at all throughout my pregnancy... But now at this point I am done.

LIJ is about the same from me. Thank god! I would have anxiety if it was further. I went to SBU so I am familiar with the area!

I'm almost 39 wks. Lost most if not all of my plug (not sure how much could be left!) and having mild contractions off and on. I'm 3cm and 80% effaced. I thought for sure I was in labor this morning but then the contractions stopped. Now it's just period type cramps. Hoping to have this baby soon!

Re: Anyone else 39 weeks???

I'm 38 weeks and feel no different than a couple of weeks ago. I actually think i feel a little better because he dropped a bit. On Monday I was 1cm dilated and 80% effaced and doc said the head is very low. Back hurts, feel huge...etc but nothing labor related.

My DD was 5 days late so I am just assuming this time I will go late again.

Delivering at Stony Brook (which is 2 mins from my house) :)

Got tested for Strep B and it came back negative and so happy about that because this means I can labor at home once my water breaks or the contractions start. Last time it came back positive and I had to go to hospital right away so they could give me antibiotics. I ended up in labor for 24 hours stuck in the hopsital bed with an IV. MISERABLE.

If I can give first time mommys one piece of advice is...try to labor at home as long as possible and dont worry about rushing to hospital as soon as your water breaks. Obviously your doctor knows best of when you should head to the hospital but alls I am trying to say is dont rush there if you dont have too....wait it out at home where you can shower, eat, relax. BEST OF LUCK TO YOU ALL Chat Icon

Anyone else 39 weeks???

I am 39w2d. For the past week I've been having cramping and sporadic contractions. Some days they are stronger than others. At my 38w appt I was 1 cm. At my 39w appt on Wednesday I was still 1cm. I got back to the doc on Monday.

I'm delivering at Winthrop.

Hey!! Quick question for you... I also tested positive for Group B Strep. My OB told me I only need to go to the hospital immediately if my water breaks. Otherwise I can labor at home until contractions are 3-4 minutes apart. Had your OB told you something different when you tested positive? Or did your water break and that's why you went in right away? TIA!

Hi, My water broke before contractions truly started. For some people, they get contractions and water breaks hours later. Ya never know with labor :)

Okay gotcha. Yeah I've heard it's actually only like 10% of women whose water breaks before contractions start... We shall see what happens! I just want to get on those antibiotics ASAP before anything could reach baby.

I'm positive for strep B also. Hoping my water doesn't break before labor starts bc I don't want to be laboring in the hospital the whole time!

Re: Anyone else 39 weeks???

I'm 39 weeks today and last week tested positive for Group B Strep. Good news though, I retested on Tuesday after a week of homeopathic remedies and I tested negative!!!! So now I can labor at home as long as I want if my water breaks again like it did with my first Chat Icon And no antibiotics!!!

Other than that, I don't think anything's going on, although I refused the internal at my last exam so I can't be sure. I did drop over the last4 days so hopefully things are starting!!!

Well if u ladies do have to go to hospital ASAP to get the antibiotics then just know you can walk/move around if ur up for it. I was sO ignorant last time, I just laid in bed the entire time which slows labor. Walk, move, switch positions as much as possible:)

You can also ask for a heplock, so they can take the IV out after the antibiotics are administered. This is what my midwife was going to do.

How are we doing girls?! I really thought the baby would be here over the weekend! Wishful thinking I guess. I've been having a ton of BH, sometimes every 10 min for hours but they never get more painful or closer! Ugh this part is frustrating!!
