When did you tell your children........

My SD is 12 years old. She knows that we have been trying. We are going away on vacation this week and because I am now pregnant almost all of the activities we have planned (waterpark,, tubing, amusement park, etc) I won't be able to participate. She is definitely going to know something is up since I am usually the one who rides all of the rides with her. I am only 7 weeks and now DH wants to tell her. What to do? When did you tell your children you were pregnant?

we told DS (7 1/2 yrs old) at 13 weeks, after our NT scan; sometimes I think he knew something was up, but didn't know I was pg.

We told DS and DD after the NT scan...I was a little over 12 weeks. DS already had a feeling before we said something because he kept making comments

As soon as I got a BFP- I asked DS if he wants to be a big brother (that's how I told DH that I was expecting).

I told DD when I was about 6/7 weeks both times (she was 11yo and is now 13yo) I'm sure your SD will be super excited!!! Are you going somewhere that has a spa? Maybe see if you can get mani/pedi's together while you're there?

My Dd is only 2.5 and we started telling her when I was showing around 4 months.

If I were you, I'd totally tell your SD. She's old enough to understand, and I would hate to make up excuses all vacation.

Thanks ladies for your advice. My DH and I shared the great news with my SD tonight and she was so excited, until we told her that she had to keep it quiet. I am happy we told her. When I told her all the things I couldn't do while we were away she said she definitely would have figured it out.
