Not sure what to do........
I am 7 weeks pregnant and was supposed to go for my first prenatal appointment this week, but it ended up getting canceled I have now rescheduled for late next week. Before my appointment we were originally going to tell our parents and siblings this weekend when we were away on a family vacation together. Now I don't know if I want to tell them because I haven't been to the doctor yet. The reason I was set on sharing with them this weekend is because my brothers and sisters all live upstate and i wanted to share the good news with them face to face. So confused. What would you do????
I forgot about one very important thing: My SD is 12 and she will be with us on vacation. We were planning on waiting til after we were 12 weeks. Although she will probably figure it out since I can't really do any of the activities that we were planning on doing this vacation. What are your thoughts on this?

Not sure what to do........
Well we found out right before Christmas that we were pregnant and so we were only 4-5 weeks on Christmas day and had not been to the dr yet. At the time we were still living in DC and so we were going to be visiting my family in NY for a couple days and then DH's family in Boston for a few days for Christmas. Since we didn't get to see either family that much, we decided we were going to tell them. Here I am at 39 weeks pregnant tomorrow and all is well, thank God. So I say go for it!!!! We didn't tell extended family or any friends until 12 weeks.

Tell them. We did and they just had to keep quiet until we wanted more people to know.

Do you know if your doctor even does an ultrasound at your 1st apt? I ask this because after my 1st apt I didn't know any more than I knew before I got there. All I did that apt was pee in a cup and they gave me a urine pg test that was probably less sensitive than the one I took at home. They told me some things to avoid and had me schedule my 1st ultrasound for a few weeks later.
I would just tell them unless you REALLY want an ultrasound first. Obviously just stress to them not to repeat your news until you and DH are ready. This can be tough for some people I've come to discover.

I asked them if they would be doing an ultrasound at the first appointment and the nurse said that it all depends on what the doctor wants to do.

I don't see a reason not to tell your immediate family.
