wdyd when you have different comfort levels (mattress question)?
went to sleepys today and my husband and i are on the opposite spectrums as far as comfort levels (according to mattress computer machine thingy). I like a softer mattress and he likes more of the firm ones.
so what do you do?

the mattress we got (the one for the brand where they have you lay down on the thing) would have been available with two different levels in one mattress. at least it was a year ago. maybe check if you can do that?

Either a sleep number bed or I know that Bobs has a bed where one side can be firm and one side can be softer.

yeah we did that. It's the My Side series. But there are some negative reviews about it so i'm kind of worried about it. But of course everything else we laid on after that... wasn't as nice.

All of the Bob-o-pedic memory foam mattresses come in firm, soft, or half of each. We have a solid firm mattress, and we love it. Every thread in here about the bob-o-pedic mattresses has nothing but positive reviews (except from people who just don't like the foam mattresses, no matter who makes them).

those mattress tend to have problems but sleep to live costumer service is great and they tend to replace them with not a lot of problem when you call. Just make sure you buy a mattress protector so you dont void the guarantee

We got that one in November and I absolutely LOVE it. We actually ended up choosing the same sides so it is all the same but I think it would have been fine if we didn't.
Worth EVERY penny to me.

Yes, the warranty in a mattress is like a warranty in car is not the dealer that offer it but more the manufacture, you might have to deal with Sleepy's if any problems but you can also contact the manufacture directly. They would use sleepy most-likely to send an inspection and/or to exchange the mattress but they are pretty good.

You can get a Tempurpedic mattress (king size - don't know about the other sizes) in 2 different levels. You can get 2 mattresses that are placed side by side, so each one can be different.

Dh was a supervisor at Sleepy's until last year. He routinely steered people away from the Kingsdown/Sleep To Live/My Side mattresses. They have a horrible track record and are prone to sagging quickly. And the measurements for sagging has to be a specific amount before they'll replace it. Also, if there is one spot on the mattress cover, they void the entire warranty (so a dirt mark, water stain etc)
A friend who didn't listen to him just had to have hers replaced early this year because it sagged so badly. It was 8 months old. DH has many of these stories. We have friends who bought one, theirs is so bad that the DH sleeps in a CHAIR. But, it doesn't sag enough to get replaced. It is about 6 years old now, and he's been in the chair for about 4 years since they can't afford to replace it (they spent $3500 on it!)
We have a memory foam bed, a Simmons Comforpedic which we love. One of the reasons that DH had us look at it is because it is Certipur foam, meaning it is made without formaldehyde. Even though they're comfy and get good reviews, he wouldn't consider the Bobopedic or many other foam mattresses because they are manufactured in China and LOADED with chemicals, including formaldehyde. There is also something about the foam that is different than Tempurpedic/Bobopedic as it isn't tempurature sensitive (so if the room is cold, it's not as hard as a brick and it doesn't sleep hot).
DH and I had a Sleep Number before this bed and it was fine when one of us was firm, the other soft, but if we had our numbers anywhere near the other's, then we both rolled into the middle. But that seems to be a problem more for the queen size, since friends who have the king size Sleep number don't have this problem at all. It was also a pain having to fill both sides of the bed, which is a killer for spontaneous nookie.

The chemicals and the whole Chinese sweat shop thing were a concern but the Bob-O-Pedic won in the end b/c it felt best for me. I have a very bad back. My mattress didn't cure it but I have had a ton of mattresses that made it worse.
I opted not to get a Bob-O-pedic mattress for my child b/c of the chemicals but I did not get him memory foam at all.
I still recommend Bob-O-Pedic because I was unhappoy with anything I had before and I found nothing else comfortable in stores.

We got the Sleep to Live in October and it's great.
