doctors appt today - would this annoy you?

I had a 15 week appt today for a normal prenatal visit; DH did not come with bc last appt they said starting now they only listen to the heartbeat with the doppler (no more ultrasounds). to my surprise they told me i was getting an internal ultrasound (yay!) to measure cervix length due to a problem in the past. the doctor goes in there, measures the cervix, listens to the heartbeat and that was it. i asked if we could see baby while he was in there and he said no need because the heartbeat sounds good...well i know there is no need to see baby, but i want to see baby!
i was kinda bummed - is this normal? has anyone else experience something similar?

after that i had to ASK what my NT results were as he was ready to leave the office and he said if we dont call you they are good but ill double check...turns out they were extremely good. i should have been 1 in 900 but instead i was 1 in 10,000 at odds for downs. that was of course great to hear and im super excited for a healthy baby so the rest doesnt really matter

this isnt my normal dr - she is on vaca but he is her partner in the practice they like you to rotate to see since there is a chance he will deliver the baby. i feel like i saw him once, i no longer want to see him after this experience. would you continue to rotate or just stick with your usual dr?

the NT results thing wouldn't bother me, but the fact that he wouldn't let you see the baby kind of would.

if you no longer want to see this doctor, then don't continue to rotate. it's not worth the frustration.

It's annoying, but insurance won't pay for it and could reject it. Usually doctors are cool about it, but this one doesn't seem to be. You would've been REALLY mad if you got a crazy $200 bill from your insurance company rejecting the bill, though... probably not worth the 5 seconds to see the baby. Just another perspective. (But it's coming from someone who only gets 3 sonos the entire pregnancy, so I'm jaded and jealous of those who get more for free.)

I'd still keep rotating since it's likely any doctor on call could deliver the baby, but it's up to you. If you'd feel better with your usual doctor, then stick with that person, though.

Eh, I don't think those two things are really a big deal. He did the ultrasound for a purpose (measure your cervix) and did just that. I also don't think the NT scan results really matter unless there's a problem. He gave you the info when you asked.

It would 100% bother me. He was already in there so he could have easily just checked over the baby. I also don't really agree about the insurance... At 27 weeks I wanted another confirmation that was in fact a boy and so my OB put down that I was having slight cramping for insurance purposes. So she was extra cool about it. But your OB was already in there already to check your cervix - that's all he'd need to put for insurance purposes, he wouldn't need to add that he did a quick sweep of the baby. And he didn't need to do a full anatomy scan, just a quick sweep so you could see him/her - it's always exciting and reassuring.
