nursery furniture - quality ?
We are starting to look into what furniture we like... whatever we get will convert to a full size and bed and likely be this kids furniture forever... or at least a really long time! I want to make sure we get something that is good quality and is going to last.
With that said... is what you see in buy buy baby/babies r us comparable to Behr's in qualtiy? Or is Behr's better quaity?
TIA

Re: nursery furniture - quality ?
I think it more a matter of the manufacturer, not where you buy it exactly, but stores like Behrs carry more of the high-end / higher quality manufacturers.
That said, some expensive brands may not necessarily be the best quality either.

I agree. We bought DD's convertible crib and her dresser(with a top that can be used as a changing area) at Target , she used the crib for almost 3 years and it's still in great condition, we'll be using it again for this baby, and we have been using the dresser for 5yrs and I mean really using it every single day and it's also in great condition, no scratches, it's very sturdy and the drawers are not falling apart which is an issue on some dressers , we'll be usingit for at least another 3-4 years and then we'll get new furniture when the kids are older.

Its not about where you buy it but more of what you buy.
I bought mine at BBB and they carry it at Behrs and Belini (just more money there)

Re: nursery furniture - quality ?
It depends on the brand.
Top quality is something like Romina or Echelon which are not sold at BBB or BRU but they are also very $$$$. However, if you want a lifetime set, I recommend the investment. They are made of solid wood, no veneer, self-close drawers, etc.

Re: nursery furniture - quality ?
I bought a Stanley Young America crib for DD and really regret it. It was a lot of $ and beautiful, but the quality is no better than any of the other cribs out there. We had to special order rails to convert it to a toddler bed, and they took 6 weeks and cost $200 and were damaged, so we had to wait another 4 weeks fora new set to come.
For this baby, we are buying a basic crib from BBB and getting the toddler rails now as well so we don't have to wait months when we need them.

can you share which dresser you have if you remember the name? On the hunt for a good inexpensive dresser in a chocolate color. thanks!
