DD wont take whole milk, stopped eating
We started whole milk last week for dd. She was fine for a week but then all the sudden started rejecting the milk completely and stopped eating food yesterday. I finally got her to eat some bread and a cereal bar, she refused all else. She has actually been the crankiest she has ever been, incuding the newborn stage. She was up all night(never did that before, sttn since 6 weeks).
I do know she was having hard stools this week so maybe it constipated her too much? Im not sure if it was the milk though since she has also been refusing fruits/veggies this week(before she started refusing the milk).
She also had the MMR 5 days ago so Im wondering if that is making her more irritable. No rash or fever.
I dont know what to do, i had to put her back on formula just to get nutrtion in her. Do i restart milk? Maybe transition gradually instead of cold turkey? Dilute the milk?
She has always been an easy baby so this is all new to me

Re: DD wont take whole milk, stopped eating
I haven't done it yet, but my doc told me to transition a little at a time (1 Tb. the first day, then 2T, etc.).
She also said that milk could cause constipation, diarrhea or change the color of the poopie, depending on your DC. I give my son prunes and prune juice every day and had to give him 1/2 t. of miralax last week to get things moving... and MOVE they DID!
I would call your doc and ask what they think you should do. Good luck!

Poor girl, I hope she is back to normal soon! I would think that it could be a combination of everything you said. DS didn't have a reaction to the mmr but I have heard of kids who do. I know when my DD gets constipated she tends to eat and drink less. A little mirilax helps her immensely. As far as transitioning to the milk, I did it gradually so it wouldnt hurt their stomachs. I wouldn't water down the milk though. You'd be cutting out nutrition if you did that.
Good luck!
