I only get 3 total... 8, 12, 20. No more after that unless there are complications.

We paid for a 3D sono for an anniversary present to ourselves this pregnancy and found out the baby is frank breech. My OB wouldn't have even known if I hadn't gone to that outside sono!!! They told me the OB will have to do another now and insurance will pay because they're required to report it, but so far I haven't had another (I'm 32 weeks now). I go back to the 3D place for a free follow-up and if my OB won't look, at least I'll be able to see there. I'm rather miffed about the whole thing.

With DD, we had a few complications so we had another sono at 28 weeks (I had partial placenta previa and DD had a spot on her heart at the anatomy scan). Everything was completely cleared up at 28 weeks, though, and I didn't have any more sonos. It's hard to go that long without seeing the baby.

It seems like most NY OBs do a growth sono. I'm OOS and it's not commonly done where I live now.

I got an initial one at my Dr's office on a really small machine @ 7 weeks, then the 2 big ones at 12 and 20 weeks. Then nothing until 36 weeks for a growth sono.

It depends on your pregnancy. I had 8w, 13w, 20w, 24w, 29w, (32w 4d), 36w and 37w. I'm not scheduled for anymore.

Once I switched from my RE to my OB I had one at: 9w, 12w, 20w, 24w (unscheduled- they just did this because I was having pains), and I'm scheduled for my next one at 28w.
Not sure about after that.

8, 12, 20 and then i had growth sonos for both babies because they were big....one growth sono at the very end for each

it really depends on the OB AND the pregnancy.

for a normal pregnancy, 8, 12, 20 and maybe another for growth.

i am considered high risk so I've had them at 6, 8, 9, 12, 16 and will at 20 and then every 2 weeks until 34 and then every week.

I'm almost 15 weeks and have had 5 including the NT and CVS. The others were at 8w, 9w and 13w.

I am 13 weeks, but I was seeing an RE.

RE did:
4 w
5 w

OBGYN
6w - only cause RE released me to them early
8w
11w - NT Scan
16w - Anatomy scan is scheduled
20w - level 2 is scheduled

Once I was released from my RE (where I had weekly sonos), my ob did 8w and the 12w NT scan. I'm scheduled for my next at 20w for an anatomy scan and that's all that my insurance would normally cover.

However, I have fibroids, so they won't be able to measure my stomach/uterus for an accurate growth assessment of the baby, so I'll have monthly sonos beginning at 24w.

Plus, we're doing an u/s around 17w for gender scan at an outside u/s center...and hopefully one around 30w for some 3d/4d fun!

With both pregancies BUT different practices had sonos at

6wks, 8 wks, 12 wks, 16 wks, 20 wks, 33wks, and I think around 37 weeks.

So far I've had 5w and 7w. My next appointment is at 11w and I'm sure I'll be having a sono.

I am totally in the minority on this one - I get one every 2 weeks. I will be 16w on Thursday and have had 5 so far.
From what I have heard, the normal rate I think is around 3 or 4 throughout your pregnancy?

My dr does one at every appt. Which is one of the many reasons why I love him! I don't think my ins covers unlimited so I guess he doesn't bill for them?

Typically 3: First Dr appt around 10 wks. 12 wk NT and the 20 wk anatomy scan. I just asked for one to get a growth estimate at 38 wks but that is not typical.

Typically 3, if no issues. I've had like 11-12 sonos at this point (I'm 23wks) and I kind of wish I only needed the typical 3, instead of constantly worrying about what they'll "find" on the next sono.

I had one at weeks 8,12,20. My dr told me that I will have another at 28 bc I did IVF. I was so glad to hear that!

I got the official ones at 8, 12 and 20. But luckily my doctor has a small machine in his office so he does informal ones at my prenatal visits which aren't billed.

I'm 12 and I've had one at my gyn and one at my re...I would take one once a week if they'd let me
