Id like to change this into this
What do you think? Is it possible? The stove in an insert, so I think I can just remove it and have a regular fireplace. Then Id have to purchase a mantel and shelving. Im just not a fan of the brick or that stove.

you can definitely change that to the way you want it! i would probably hire a contractor and have him do built-ins but neither my husband or i are that handy!

Yes, you absolutely can!
This is our before and after. I didn't add bookcases all though I wanted too, we really just did this to sell.
We didn't remove the brick because it would have been to much work, they put firing strips which were glued and screwed and then sheetrock over it.
The mental idea i found on Pinterest!

Yes, you can totally change and I think it would look great. If it is too $$$ to remove the brick you can paint it white or a white wash.
