Behavior management that works???
What types of behavior management have you used that you would recommend? Need to start changing things up over here, because what we have is not working

Re: Behavior management that works???
Set clear expectations for your DC in every situation Rules often change with the environment. (Aunt Mary has a pool or busy road they need to be made aware of ) If expectations are met offer rewards and consequences if they are not. Sticker charts work well for us. We earn three stickers a day for what we are working on, broken down to morning, afternoon and evening. After a certain amount of stickers a reward is given.
I also love the 1,2,3 Magic approach and use it very effectively with DS who really needs multiple approaches to behavior mod.
Another great book is How to talk so kids will listen and kids will talk. Highly recommended!!!
Above all be consistent and mean what you say- never make an idle threat or punishment you do not intend to enforce.
Good luck!
