Apples for 1 year old

How do you make apples soft enough to give to a 1 year old? Do you boil or bake them? If baked how do you bake them? Sorry to sound like a dummy but I don't cook much. DH does most of the cooking Chat Icon

Apples for 1 year old

DS was eating raw apples at 1, but other than that I used to make homemade applesauce and feed him that way too.
I cut the apples in small pieces add a little bit of water and just cooked them until soft.

I would either make applesauce from them or would bake them by putting them in the oven in a baking dish and sprinkle some cinnamon on top.

DS is 15 months and I have to give him apples. Chat Icon He does love applesauce though- I either make homemade or by the Nature's Promise Organic at Stop & Shop.

I cut it into bite size pieces and put them in a bowl with a wee bit of butter(not completely necessary) then laid them out on a baking sheet and sprinkled cinnamon on them. Baked at 350 for like 39 min. So delicious, DH was jealous!
