Is it time to stop swaddling?

I know that people swaddle for months, and I planned to, but I think my 2-month-old DD is done with it. For the past three nights, she has wiggled so much in her sleep that she ends up diagonal or sideways in the crib, up to 90 degrees from how she started! We usually use swaddle mes, but last night, we tried the Miracle Blanket again, and when she woke up at 2:30, it was partially unwrapped, and she had even managed to get an arm free from it! I put her in a Swaddle Me after she ate, and within an hour or so, she had made that 90 degree turn, and her head was almost pressed against the bars of the crib.

I'm wondering if she's in something less confining, will she do less kicking and wiggling and sleep more comfortably? I'm just worried that she will startle awake more easily. I'm thinking of getting the Halo Sleep Sack with the removable arm swaddle to see how that works...

How did you know it was time to stop swaddling your DC?

We stopped swaddling pretty early. I'd say about 1 month. She would keep herself awake wriggling her hands out of it. I have to say though, she did startle herself awake at times, until about 2 months. Then, she was fine.

DD started to do the same thing you described at about 3 months. For the first 2 months we swaddled her arms in. She started to wiggle her arms out, so we started to swaddle her with her arms free.. Shortly after she started to do the same thing you just described, so I started putting her in the sleep sack. And what a difference that has made! She sleeps better, and isn't fighting the swaddle anymore.
I def. recommend the sack!
