A question about food....
I eat pretty healthy in general, and have continued to do so during my eight weeks so far. But one thing I was hoping to cut out was overly processed foods while pregnant. I have found though that I am so tired, and they are so easy. Are all of you eating only freshly prepared food........or do you also make ellios sometimes (like in my oven right now )
Also, if you have any ideas for QUICK healthy meals/snacks, I'd love to hear!

Granola bars raisins/dried fruit PB&J sliced fruit yogurt trail mix
I don't eat fast food when I'm not pg, but we've gone out to dinner or had take-out at least once a week.

A question about food....
hahahaha sometimes I just eat some ritz bits with peanut butter and call it lunch.
I'm so bad. I fix my daughter the best meals and for myself I eat complete crapola.
I eat tons of lean cuisines -- did last pregnancy too. I never had any BP issues or anything so the salt wasn't that big a deal and I drank tons of water too. This time, I have cereal for breakfast, eat out a lot for lunch, and dinner is a toss-up. I used to cook tons of different things, but mostly chicken-based meals. Since I got pregnant, I can't stomach raw chicken so I've stopped cooking it. I make chicken or turkey sausage, a bag of frozen veggies, and some sort of starch (sometimes sweet potato fries you stick in the oven) a lot. Also turkey burgers or turkey meatballs or turkey meatloaf. (I can handle ground turkey, just not raw chicken.)
Tonight I made grilled cheese with tomatoes for dinner for myself. I often pick up a rotisserie chicken for us all to eat for dinner.
When we go out, I try to eat well but at home I just eat whatever seems appealing. I was proud of myself last night for choosing an apple instead of a cookie after dinner didn't fill me up. It's the little things.

A question about food....
The way I see it is it's only temporary. Once you start getting your energy back in your second trimester you'll be able to do more and food prep will go back to normal. If that's all you can get in right now so be it.

A question about food....
In the first trimester I was soooo tired we did alot of takeout b/c I just didn't have the energy to cook dinner. Once the second trimester hit I was right back to my old self and was making lunch and dinner every day and always had cut up veggies and fruits in the house, its what I was craving, no fast foods appealed to me at all. And thank god cause I only gained 15 pds this whole pregnancy. I do have my snack at night though which consists of either a hostess cupcake, or 2, or devil dogs usually something chocolatey

Re: A question about food....
Right now I am eating whatever I can to make myself not sick!
It's alot of carbs...bagels, bowls of cheerios, animal crackers, granola bars.
Grilled cheese and chicken nuggets with the kids
and for some strange reason Fanta soda is helping me.
some other easy ideas are:
peanut butter on whole wheat toast trail mix rotisserie chicken on a salad mandarin oranges plums
The last time I was pregnant it was much easier to eat healthy once I was in the 2cnd tri eta oh and I have totally had ellios

Re: A question about food....
We ate out a lot in the beginning because I was so tired... DH would offer to cook but by the time we got home from work it would be 7 and I would be falling asleep on the couch while he cooked so we would order food while we were still on the train and pick it up on the way home... I've been much better lately although I haven't really been eating full meals. I snack more now... DH tells me I'm "grazing"... We keep a lot of fruit in the house, strawberries, blueberries, pineapple, nectarines and bananas... I get these chewy granola bars by Cascadian Farms that I love, I just stocked up on Quinoa to replace rice, I LOVE rice but there is like zero nutritional value... PB&J has become a staple and there are a lot of times I'l just have a bowl of cereal, like Special K or Cheerios with bananas.

for lunch, i eat lean cuisines for dinner, we really only cook "fresh" food once or twice a week. The rest of the week, we make ready-made pizza, or mac n cheese, or those pasta-in-a-bag things (borelli's i believe), or the like.

I crave anything bread or pasta...and fruit. I figure the fruit balances out all the bread I'm eating. I'm 14w4d and have only lost weight so far so I'm not that concerned (yet).

Re: A question about food....
I try to avoid overly processed foods as much as possible. Breakfast is usually stovetop oatmeal or eggs. Sometimes I will have whole wheat pancakes. I don't eat cereals. Lunch and dinner are usually freshly prepared. I'm not into frozen dinners or sandwiches. I snack on fruits. of course, I do cheat sometimes.
