VBAC's..
I'm wondering about having a vbac when I get pregnant with my 2nd. (TTC at the moment). I had my DD June 12,2008 and opted for a csection. Long story short, I never want to have a csection again. Anyone have a successful vbac and wants to share? Thanks!

VBAC's..
I had a heck of a time trying but was not successful. If you FM me your name, there are a few groups on FB that I can add you too. There is a group that meets once a month and is a VBAC support group. Let me know if you're interested.

Re: VBAC's..
I'm trying for one! I'm going to fight like hell to get it. DD1 was an emergency csection, and it was awful on a number of levels. I am under the care of a group of midwives that have an 88% success rate with VBAC. I hired a doula that specializes in VBAC. I'm starting with a chiropractor in the next few weeks, so that the baby gets (and stays) in a good position. In the end, I know it's all up to ... but I want to stack the deck in my favor.
Check out ICAN (international cesarean awareness network). They meet monthly in Bethpage. Discussion topics vary, but I've found them to be a supportive group of women that have helped me gather a ton of information.

Re: VBAC's..
I did! I had DD by "emergency" c-section (read: unnecessary) in 2005. I knew there was no way I wanted that again. I had my DS in 2009 at Stony Brook with the midwives by successful VBAC. The OB/GYN tried to say my son was too big & I should schedule. I refused. I pushed out my 8lb 6oz baby boy in 34 minutes with very mild, superficial tearing. It was an amazing experience that I'm so glad I had. If I ever have a 3rd, hands down another VBAC.
If you have any questions feel free to ask!

VBAC's..
thanks for all the info! i actually live in Florida. Unfortunately, the county I live in, I can't find any doctors to do a VBAC. The rates for VBACs are so high here its nuts. Dani- thats amazing! good for you for refusing!!! I just need a healing process that will be much better than a csection. I was in pain for 2-1/2 yrs. :( awful awful awful experience. I have an underlying autoimmune disease which reared its head 2 weeks post csection. it was a nightmare.

Find an ICAN chapter near you and they can help you find a practitioner/hospital. That's how I found mine.
