Has anyone gotten an xray while pregnant?
Even though my obgyn said it's perfectly safe, I'm a bit nervous. I have a really bad virus so I think they need to rule out pneumonia.

I haven't had an x-ray done, but in the grand scheme of things, I'd rather know my lungs are healthy and risk 1 x-ray.

What type of X-ray? Guessing chest if you're saying possible pneumonia.....I had a hip X-ray done when I was 3 weeks pregnant- obviously not knowing I was. I was a wreck the whole time. In fact, spoke to the PA in my drs office when I was only 4 & 1/2 weeks along and had discovered I was pregnant and she freaked me out completely. I'm still trying to figure out why she wasn't fired based on things she said to me- bottom line is when I told my high risk dr abt the X-rays he didnt even bat an eye about it. My orthopedic surgeons office even had the X-ray company figure out how many rads (how much radiation) I was hit with. It was so minimal in comparison to what could actually cause issues for the baby. If your ob is comfortable with it- I'm sure you're fine. I was recently told I needed an MRI- all 4 of my doctors were fine with it but the MRI place refused to do it. Did the you already have it? Good luck! And I hope you don't have pneumonia.....this humidity must be knocking you out!!

Has anyone gotten an xray while pregnant?
Before I realized I was pregnant I had 4 films taken of my lower back (so pretty much right at my uterus) I was so scared and nervous, but at 17 weeks everything.is going fine!!

I didnt say I wasnt going to do it, I was looking to hear from those who have had them while pregnant.
Thanks to those who responded, yes, as long as my belly is covered, I was told it is safe.

Nor did I imply you weren't going to have it done.
I was just trying to help you put positive perspective on the situation and make you feel more comfortable with your decision to have an x-ray done.

Has anyone gotten an xray while pregnant?
I had a toe xray on a Wednesday and found out that Saturday I was pregnant. So I was barely pregnant when they did the xray. But my OB said it was totally fine as long as I was covered.

I had an xray at 20 weeks of my ankle after a pretty bad injury. They triple covered my belly and the tech said pretty much what a pp said, that the radiation is minimal and if you are covered you should be fine. OB agreed. Good luck!
