Short Sale & Questions to Ask
Hi all!
Tonight my DH and I are going to see a short sale listing. We are very familiar with the neighborhood, and the house itself. The house already has an offer, so if we like it, we are going in there tonight prepared to make a competitive offer.
That being said, do any of you know if there are any particular questions I should ask being that it's a short sale? I know that we would be buying it "as is."
Any help would be appreciated! Tx!!

Re: Short Sale & Questions to Ask
how many banks are involved in the process? did the seller start his paperwork and is he prepared to?
from what i heard, not all sellers are motivated to go through the process, so making sure the seller is ready to be cooperative should be helpful

Re: Short Sale & Questions to Ask
just keep in mind that its not up to the buyer to accept the offer. since it's a short sale you put in an offer and the bank has to accept it. that can take months. i just sold my house in may with a short sale and had nothing to do with the process.
