Moms of two. Question for you.

Do you need a double stroller for a 3.5 year old and a newborn? DC who is 3.5 loves the stroller. But is it a must??

i would not say it is a must but if your 3.5 your old loves the stroller you may want to look into a sit and stand or something like that.

Re: Moms of two. Question for you.

I recently bought a sit and stand for my 3.5 year old and newborn. DD loves that she can stand up or sit down. I figured I'd get more time out of this type of stroller.

This is what I was going to recommend. My nephew was 3.5 when his brother was born and this is what they did. Worked out great!

Thanks ladies! Gonna have to think this over. Would just hate to waste money on a stroller my DC might decide not to sit in.

Re: Moms of two. Question for you.

I have two double strollers. A city micro double side by side and a Joovy ultralight caboose. I can count on one hand how many times I used the side by side. The sit and stand style one I use all the time.
ETA Mine are 26 months apart. They are now 2 and 4.

never used a double- had a sit & stand we wound up selling. DD has always been a walker.

Re: Moms of two. Question for you.

I didn't get one at first. My 1st and 2nd are 3 1/2 years apart and my 1st is totally fine walking in stores, etc.

However i recently got the Joovy sit n stand for crowd control purposes. My husband works rotating shifts and so when i take them both out to a carnival, easter egg hunt, or things like that... i want my 4 year old to be on the stroller for any cars going by and/or crowd control. Chat Icon

Re: Moms of two. Question for you.

no. My kids stopped using a stroller before 3 years old. I had a double stroller for my girls(they are only 14 months apart) and it hardly got used.

Re: Moms of two. Question for you.

I didn't buy one. I borrowed a sit n stand from a friend but haven't used it yet. dS is 3 and is good about holding onto the stroller. dD is almost 6 weeks and still in the snap n go

We didn't get one, and my DC are just under three years apart. My older one is good about walking and holding on to the stroller though.

Depends on the child. My 7 year old still wants to rest in the double stroller at times. LOL

Re: Moms of two. Question for you.

I would say no. My kids are 2.5 years apart. I bought a used double and barely used it. It was a waste of money. I would wait until the baby comes and then decide.
