Has anyone done a "dream laundry room"?
Like the kind you see in magazines with new machines, a sink and awesome storage?
Our laundry is in the unfinished part of our basement with no windows and it's at the moment but it's our fall project. I found a bunch of inspiration pics on houzz but none of them really look like a basement with no natural light.
Anyone have pics to share?

Have you been on pinterest? I've seen some gorgeous ideas, but I've only pinned ones I realistically could do in my space , so I'm no help for you

Re: Has anyone done a "dream laundry room"?
Ive mentioned this before, but my drea landry room will also be a dressing room with hangars, shelves, drawers etc. That way the laundry wont have to go far to put it away and when you take off your clothes to get dressed in something else you can throw it right in the wash right there. Hoping to make it happen one day :)

Re: Has anyone done a "dream laundry room"?
My parent's laundry room is off of their kitchen. It has the new type of machines and they are enclosed in cabinets that match the kitchen and have the same counter as the kitchen. You can fold or iron on top of the counter with a cloth on it to protect it. They have a cabinet to hide all of their detergent.
As for us, our laundry room is on the second floor and it is an actual room. It has the older style machines, but I love the room because it is on the same level as our bedrooms and I can close the door.

Re: Has anyone done a "dream laundry room"?
I loved a feature we had in the home I grew up in but it would be really hard to retro-fit into a house. We had a Laundry Chute that went from the second floor to the laundry room in the basement. My brother and I just opened the door and dropped our dirty laundry in and it fell to a closet in the basement that had an open wood grate as the shelf. All the laundry was waiting there on the ventilated shelf, ready to be put into the washer without having to gather it all up an carry it downstairs.

Re: Has anyone done a "dream laundry room"?
I just saw one on Pinterest that had a dog bath built in next to the washer. I thought that was really clever, but our laundry room doesn't have the space for that (and we don't have a dog right now)
Here's one that looks like it's in a basement
Another one
Another, but I don't care for the wallpaper.
