questions about onesie decorating at a shower
i really really want to have a onesie decorating station at my shower.
i found a cute idea where somebody put some stencils on the onesies and then they gave people fabric paint so they could just color in the stencils. that way, people don't have to come up with their own designs if they don't want to (they also gave non-stenciled onesies and markers for the more creative people).
i really want to do this but had a few questions:
1 - my shower is going to be at a restaurant (in a party room) - do i need to tell them in advance that i'm going to do this? i'm afraid they'll say no because it's paint.
2- also, anyone know a good place to buy really cheap onesies? walmart had them for about $2-3 each but i'm hoping to find something even cheaper
3 - oh, lastly, i want to have a mix of onesies and bibs (and anything else you can think of). If i have 25-30 guests, how many of each should i buy?
TIA!

We did all onesies but I actually went to the carters outlet and got good ones since I knew I'd want DD to wear them. Yes, they're a little more pricy, but she wore every single one (I got them in a variety of sizes, all the way through 9 m). I think we had 15 or so, and we had around 25 people at my shower. Not everyone was interested in doing them. If you're going to do bibs as well, then that should be plenty.
I do suggest skipping puffy paint. Any that were made with puffy paint, that part of them came off. But the stencils and fabric paint parts came out great!
Don't know about telling the restaurant in advance. Maybe ask them what the set-up will be as far as where you'll be able to put presents and anything else you've brought "to display" (if you don't want to tell them about the painting the onesies). You can also use fabric markers instead of paint if you're worried. Maybe bring a plastic tablecloth so you don't dirty their tablecloths with paint that won't come off.
You could also put up some sayings, phrases, or ideas on the table for people to choose from so they don't have to think too hard. One of the cutest onesies we had from when DD was little just said "baby" on it. For bibs, making "first holiday" bibs is a great idea too because they don't have to be sized any particular way.

I would bring a plastic tablecloth. I went to a baby shower and at each table there were fabric markers and we made the onsies at the table. They came out really cute.
