Potty Training

I'm hoping for some advice from you ladies before I go crazy...DD is 2.5 yrs old and we've been potty training for a while now, using pull ups and she goes on the potty during the day. As of a week ago we decided to go full force with training and stopped using pull ups. She goes on the potty at daycare with no problems. At home she's been having accidents and when I ask her to go to the bathroom most of the time she says she doesn't have to go and if I force her (because it's been hours and I know she HAS to go) she cries and gets upset and won't do it. For example this morning she woke up dry, so I praised her and told her how happy I was. Asked her to go to the bathroom and she freaked out. So I let her be. 15 minutes later she had an accident all over my chair. Am I doing something wrong? What should I be doing different? Chat Icon
TIA

Have you tried rewards? That's what I used in the beginning. I also would say let's go potty and then we will...followed by something fun she likes to do. It worked pretty well.

well it definitely sounds like a matter of a power struggle between you and your daughter. i would just give it some time. dont show any disappointment or anger when she pees on herself. perhaps let her sit in the wet underwear for a while and dont clean up her mess so she feels uncomfortable. good luck!
