Is there hope
Went in for my 7 week US today and there was just a sac. Doctor told me I most likely am dealing with a blighted ovum and to prepare for mc. I saw it with my own eyes- I know the sac was empty, I just can't help but cling to some hope that things could possibly change?? Has anyone experienced a positive out come to something like this??
We are seeing a fertility specialist. We had an IUI. I was monitored so I know the exact day of OV and implantation so there is no way that my dates are off. I have only had transvaginal sonos. My HCG levels are still increasing ( last week 14000 today over 34000). I still have all of my symptoms. I have to go in again next Monday for more blood work and another Sonogram. He hasn't discussed d&c yet but I am sure he will Monday. Any advice, suggestions on what to do? I know the proof was right in front of me on the sonogram screen but I just can't give up. Am i clinging to false hope??

i would wait a little longer because even though you did IUI you could have still had a late implanter.
that being said, it doesn't look good if they didn't see a fetal pole or yolk sac. stranger things have happened, but realistically it sounds like blighted ovum. but again, don't count yourself out until it is confirmed again in a few days. by 7.5w or so you should absolutely see a HB considering you know the likely implantation time period. i am sorry you have to go through this!!

Re: Is there hope
Wait until your sono next week to see what's going on, just try to keep your expectations tempered, I guess.

Thank you. This has just been such a heartache. I don't know how I am supposed to get passed this.
