Does anyone else dread bringing up the name topic with DH??

I have starting early this time because it has become such an issue for my first 2 pregnancies. DS2 didn't officially have a name until a few days before he was born and DS1 is a JR because we just couldn't decide.
Every time I bring it up and give him some options he hates them and comes up with ridiculous excuses of why he doesn't like them.
For instance I like the name Corena, his response was " that's a weak name" A WHAT?!?
I just know this is going to be a long 6 months Chat Icon

I have 2 months to go and we still can't agree on a middle name.... at least we agreed on a first name before dd was conceived.

Between the name and whether to circumcise, I don't know what's going to happen when this guy pops out.

We finally decided the name we both don't hate might just be it because we're sick of discussing it.

My DH shot down every single name I loved. and found a reason to make me doubt it. Most of the names I picked, he claimed sounded like or were actually names of "porn stars". So he picked the name he liked and since I didn't fight it right away, it stuck but I still kind of hate it. DD is coming in 60 hours or less and the name topic still bothers me LOL.

Every name I liked DH thought was either an "old lady name" or " a stripper name" Then finally, I thought of one he liked.... This was only a problem with girls names, since if we had a boy we were using my DH's name, which I didnt want to do..... So happy we had a girl!

Re: Does anyone else dread bringing up the name topic with DH??

I've had my names picked since I was about 14. Luckily for me, DH agreed and doesn't put up any kind of fight. It wasn't until recently he said he wasn't thrilled about the boy name, but he likes it enough to name our son it. We find out the gender next week, so I'll find out if we really have a problem then!

Re: Does anyone else dread bringing up the name topic with DH??

DH has three standard answers for why he doesn't like ANY name...

1. I know/knew someone with that name.
2. You got that name from a show on television.
3. Isn't that some actor's name?

Although every now and then he comes up with a special reason as to why he doesn't like a name... He doesn't like Matthew because it is his middle name and people will think he's trying to name the baby after himself... UGHHHHH... no one will think that, no one even knows his middle name, he doesn't use it for anything!!

I also really like the name Greyson and he said the kid will get beat up. Are kids beating each other up over their names?? I don't think I remember that happening in Elementary School.

He likes NOTHING. I even went to the Social Security Administration's website and read the 100 most popular names for 2011. He didn't like ANY of them. Chat Icon

Yes!!! Here is how it goes in our house
Me.."what do you think of the name "
Dh "oh you mean"...enter stupid comment that makes me hate the name

Last night
Me "I Like the name Reagan"
Dh "Ronald?"

Uhhhh. We have plenty of time.
What will happen is ill give him a list Hell cross most of them off and then well decide from there.

DH shoots down every girl name I come up with...we still don't know what we're having but it's driving me nuts that he hates every name!
