If have a lot of dr. appt...
More than the norm...like more than 1x a month. Is your job understanding? Do you make up the time, work through lunch or stay late? Do you have to put in vacation time or sick time? Or do they just let it go because you are exempt or what-not?

Re: If have a lot of dr. appt...
between obgyn appts, going to my primary doctor for normal bloodwork (have cholesterol and thyroid issues), dental work i am in the midst of i have at least 2-3 appts per month
my job is very understanding...i always schedule them so i will be in work no later than 10:30 or that i leave between 3:30 and 4 pm (i work 9-5) and they do not dock my pay or make me use vacation.sick hours. if i am busy i opt to work through lunch on those days, but if im not busy i will still take my lunch

If have a lot of dr. appt...
I work PT so I just shcedule things on my days off. Last pg I worked FT, although FT is 3 12 hour days, and I still scheduled things for off days. If I HAD to go when I was scheduled to work I would have to find my own coverage. My job isn't one where you can take a long lunch, go in late or do a half day (unless you get someone to come in and cover for you).

my job is very understanding I usually try to schedule the appts early in the day or towards the end of work so I can work through lunch because I feel bad but usually I can make up the time because we have high and low times.

Re: If have a lot of dr. appt...
starting this week, I will be going WEEKLY
i try to make my appointments for 8am so I can get in before work. my job is understanding though if i were taking 2 hours mid day every week, it might be a different story.

Re: If have a lot of dr. appt...
My appt are usually after work so I really don't have this problem. When I have to get blood work, I go during lunch and make it with enough time.

Re: If have a lot of dr. appt...
I usually try to get the first appt of the day so I'm not in too late, but always work late and make up the time. I don't ever take lunch (I run out to grab something and eat at my desk).
But I also don't care if people think I am gone a lot...soon I will be gone for 3 months.

If have a lot of dr. appt...
generally i try to make my appointments at the end of the day. Since i am only 15 minutes walking distance from my OBGYN, i try to make my appointments for 6pm so i only leave about 15 minutes early.

Re: If have a lot of dr. appt...
I have an ongoing hematologist appointment every two weeks and I have been to the OB(and other baby related appointments) 5x since the beginning of July... I schedule them either early in the day or will take an extended lunch. My job doesn't dock me or have me make up the time, they're very understanding. A lot of employers may have you make up the time or not based on whether you or an exempt or non-exempt employee.
