FET question
for those of you doing FET's (or who have done one in the past) did you do your cycle mediated or unmedicated? we have the option and i'm weighing out the pros and cons but i'm curious about other experiences. right now i'm leaning toward unmedicated since i normally ovulate on my own but i'm not 100% sure of my decision. TIA

FET question
I've been on the estrogen patch and now am on progesterone. Not sure if that's unmedicated.

FET question
thanks! yeah, that would be my "unmedicated" protocol too....medicated would be with suppression drugs like lupron/ganirelix. how did they monitor your ovulation?

Re: FET question
I did an unmedicated FET at your clinic and it was the best and easiest thing I ever did that was fertility related!! Very easy. I think the less meds in your body the better. Basically, they will monitor you by u/s and also do blood-work to check your LH levels to see when you are close to ovulation and give you a trigger shot to make sure that you ovualte. (FYI- I still did my own monitoring...just like I did with IUI's..just in case Long story short, there is a specific window of implantation which is why they trigger you just to be sure. You will then take estrogen and progesterone in the luteal phase. Good luck.

FET question
I am doing a fet with only estrogen patches and progesterone. I don't ovulate on my own and the patch is supposed to keep my ovaries suppressed.

Re: FET question
In terms of ovulation, I did unmedicated. Just went in for some monitoring (sono + bloodwork) and then timed the transfer based on when I naturally ovulated. I'm now 30 weeks pregnant.

thanks! i think i'm going to tell dr. wang i'd like to do unmedicated unless he has some reason he'd like to do the suppression drugs. thanks for sharing your experience!

Re: FET question
I've done both. First one was medicated and then I did 2 unmedicated. As long as you can ovulate on your own and have a good lining you can do unmedicated.

I thought that the estrogen patch suppressed ovulation. My FET was today and I did have 2 appts last week for blood/sono, so I guess they were checking then.

FET question
Yes the patch is used for suppression while your lining thickens
