Scheduled C Q

This may sound like a dumb question but can you bring a blow-dryer to the hospital. I plan on being there for 3-4 days and I have to wash my hair. LOL

Re: Scheduled C Q

I didn't but the most I have stayed in hospital has been 2 days. Between nursing, trying to get some sleep and visitors, the last thing in my mind was my appearance.

Re: Scheduled C Q

I brought a blow dryer in for my mom when she was in the hospital for 6 weeks and i dried her hair using it with the door closed because i was told anything plugged in is supposed to have approval through engineering. So if you bring it I would keep it on the DL.

Scheduled C Q

I know it seems like a shallow question but these are the things that keep me up at night. Thanks

I don't think it's a shallow question. When I had my first, I packed everything from flat iron to makeup kit because I knew pictures would be taken and I wanted to look my best. But since I gave birth at 7am, I was so tired that all I wanted to do was sleep and hold my lil one.Chat Icon
Everyone is different and I also think it depends a lot on your procedure.

It's not shallow at all! You will have just had a baby, making yourself look good will make you feel good and improve your mood, something that will help with all those post-partum hormones Chat Icon

If I recall correctly, both hospitals I was in had the little hairdryers like you see in hotels. You can totally bring in your own! I don't blow out my hair but I wore make-up every day in the hospital. Chat Icon

I think I brought mine but I didn't feel like blowing my hair out after giving birth. I just washed it and put it in a ponytail. DD was in the NICU so that was the least of my concerns.

Re: Scheduled C Q

I brought one both times. My hospital did not have them. Not a shallow question at all. Just because you have a baby doesn't mean you want to have wet hair!

You can but you probably will not end up using it. You won't be able to take a shower right away and with the lack of sleep and visitors you may not want to bother with taking the time to blow dry Chat Icon

Oh I did't even think of this. I'm smuggling in my flat iron so I can flat iron the front and pull it back in a pony tail. Chat Icon

Thanks for everyone's response!!! I'll bring it and if I don't use it oh well. My hair gets really greasy so I was trying to avoid that on my 3rd day there. Guess I'll see how I feel

Re: Scheduled C Q

I was able to. But even though I showered and attempted to dry my hair, I just didnt have the stamina to stand there and blow it out fully. I couldn't go 3-4 days without washing/drying my hair. Just the thought makes my scalp itch!
