Replacement for pasta
Besides spaghetti squash?
My kids love pasta, and I don't mind giving it to them, they don't love wheat either. I try to always make a salad and a semi-healthy sauce like pesto. Today it's meat, peppers, portobello mushrooms garlic, with canned plum tomatoes that I simmered for 2 hours).
I want to enjoy this homemade sauce, but am afraid to eat pasta since I'm trying to stay away from white carbs and even too many wheat ones!

Replacement for pasta
There is an quinoa pasta that is wheat free.
We eat mostly whole wheat pasta - DS doesn't know the difference.
Couscous - but that's white carbs too.

Thanks, I'm trying to limit the processed pastas, regardless of what they are made from (prefer to eat the whole grain). So, maybe I'll just do brown rice, red rice, or quinoa and serve the sauce on top.

I usually do a bowl of steamed veggies (broccoli, cauliflower, bok choy) and then a small amount of pasta on top. It satisfies my craving, but isn't a lot of carbs.

I used Basmati Brown rice and it was delish (cause my sauce was delish lol) and just as satisfying without feeling the bloating full feeling I get with white pasta!!
