Crib bedding
I am seeing so many beautiful options for crib bedding. I know they often come with a bumper, quilt, and skirt.
I am wondering if it is worth ordering? I understand we shouldn't put a bumper in at all, or a quilt for that matter...
For those that are buying a set, what are your plans for these pieces? I feel like I should just get sheets for now bc anything else is a waste (plus, I know my aunt is making me a quilt for the baby).
I will be a FTM so I may not understand correctly

Re: Crib bedding
IMO it was a waste... and any of my friends that got these beautiful sets now have them sitting in storage.

Crib bedding
I got a set at Target on clearance that was actually the same set I had wanted but someone had returned it (online only order) so it was uber cheap. Like $20 for the quilt, $4 for the skirt, $10 for the bumper and sheet, $4 for the diaper stacker. So it was less than $40 for the entire set. I use the quilt on the floor of DD's room -- used to be for tummy time then it became just a place to sit and read and play. The bumper sits up on top of the hutch in her room, 100% decorative. Don't know where the skirt is... we took it off when we moved the crib down to the bottom level around 9 m when she started pulling up to standing and I may have just stuck it in the closet. Diaper stacker I almost never use, but I do like it. It hangs on the closet doorknob. I like my A&A sheets better so I rarely use the sheets.
This time, I found a set from Pottery Barn Kids that I really love for DS. I bought the quilt and a sheet that match. Nothing else for us for now. I'll probably buy the pillow sham and a pillow once we confirm what his name will be. I definitely don't need a bumper at all (we use the breathable with DD and I will probably reuse it since the green we have matches both sets). Don't want a crib skirt either this time. So that's me. We have a tiny loves remote control operated mobile we used with DD that is gender neutral we will use again so I don't need a matching mobile either.
I know some people use the whole set (quilt on the glider or something I guess) and keep the bumpers in. It's very much what you're comfortable with. I never wanted the bumper in because our nursery runs warm and air circulation is a MUST for a baby and I didn't want to stifle it more.

Crib bedding
I got a set that just has the bumpber and crib skirt. I'll probably take the bumpers out when she sleeps. I didn't bother with the extras like the quilt and the thing to put diapers in. I think all that's a waste. I'm happy with what I ordered...

Re: Crib bedding
I didnt think it was worth ordering either. I registered for sheets... no quilt/not using a bumper/no skirt, etc.
I also registered for the mobile and lamp that matches the sheet but even that I feel is totally unecessary.
Im really not into the themes but it's a personal prefernce. I think they look beautiful in some baby rooms but its just not for us so I agree with you 100%

Re: Crib bedding
Honestly, if you aren't using the bumper it's a total waste. I got some really nice decorative sheets and a crib skirt and called it a day! I've never regretted the decision.

Re: Crib bedding
I bought 2 with my twins = total waste
If you like a bedding set IMO it is better to buy the accessories. The sheets, diaper stacker, lamp, valance etc
For this baby I plan on picking more of a color scheme

Crib bedding
Did not buy a set... Registered for the sheets and got them, along with another set from Land of Nod. Didn't want to use quilt or bumper either so there was no point... Although you could lay the quilt over the rocker/slider for decorative purposes if you want.

Re: Crib bedding
With my bumper I tied it outside and it lays lower, it is right where the mattress is so the baby cant put his face in it. The quilt I will use when he is older like I did with my 1st DS.
