Pediatrician question

How far in advance do you need to schedule your child's well visits? Just wondering if our place is the norm.

Re: Pediatrician question

I do it at the end of each visit- I schedule the next one.
But at the 2 year old visit, there isn't another well visit until 3.
They didn't have the schedule a year old- so I have to call back next year

Re: Pediatrician question

I scheduled mine up through her 1 year visit when I was at our 3 month visit. I wanted to be sure that we got dates/times that my DH and I could both be there with her.

Re: Pediatrician question

Based upon the replies, I am not sure if I am going to answer this correctly, but... I can pretty much call 10 days in advance and get a date/time that works for me, and that's what I typically do. I am a SAHM though...

Re: Pediatrician question

Ok I asked because I called today to make my son's 2 yr visit and they told me I can't get a visit till September for morning or October for after work (late afternoon). I couldn't make the next appointment at his 18 mth visit because they don't schedule that far in advance. I'm just a little annoyed because I had no idea we'd have to wait so long. I didn't schedule it because I was so annoyed and I am considering calling back for a sick visit because then I know we'll get in next week! I don't really feel comfortable doing that but I can't believe I have to wait till October. He will probably be sick before that (knock wood) and I'll be there anyway! I already waited too long (he is actually almost 25 mths) so he will be 27 months for his 2 yr visit Chat Icon

Pediatrician question

I usually schedule about a week or 2 before. The only times I have had issues was in June and I booked my Sept appt because they said June is camp physicals (last minute) and Sept is late back to school physicals

2 months. (for my older kids who have to have a yearly physical. Young ones we would schedule whenever we were leaving for the next visit.)

Ugh, I wasn't thinking on this one - guess this is the norm. I'm home for the summer and I guess I just thought it'd be easy to bring him in since I'm available any time. Didn't think about back to school physicals. Luckily he is ok with his daycare paperwork for awhile so I guess October it is!
