We always only go for the day. Leave early and change them into their PJs for the ride home.

Re: Sesame place in one day?..
Sure we traveled from Queens
left at 6:30AM had the 8:45 breakfast with characters park opens at 10 went on all the dry rides TWICE by 11 played in the sprinkler part lunch at 12 went on a few more rides, a little more water play and it was 2:30
The parade is at 3 and we planned to leave right after but DD fell asleep so we actually went home at 2:30 and had a great day! Got home in time for dinner!

Re: Sesame place in one day?..
We live in NE Queens and it was exactly an hour and 45 minutes door to door. Left at 8 and got there at 9:45am. Left the park at 7 and was home by 8:45.
I agree with bringing PJ's....DS was out cold by the time we pulled out of the parking lot!

Re: Sesame place in one day?..
We just did this, and live on the border Nassau/ Suffolk. We left at 745 and got there just before 11 am. We left the park at 7pm and got home around 10:30. We had a nice trip and will go again in a few weeks. We just need to leave earlier next time. We hit a ton of traffic both ways, I cant believe it took the pp less then 2 hours!
We showered the kids and put them in clean clothes for the ride home

What month and day of the week did you go? We went on a tuesday in July , took us over 3 hours to get there and back, we hit so much traffic both ways.

Re: Sesame place in one day?..
I wouldnt for 2 reasons:
1) I like to take my time and enjoy the day
2) DD would be a monster herself if we didnt let her nap in the middle of the day.
We did 2 days last summer and it was perfect. Worth the stay in the hotel overnight

Re: Sesame place in one day?..
We do one day also... We leave around 7, play have lunch... Play some more, shower and put kids in clean clothes they could also sleep in..... Get a quick dinner and head home... Usually home around 11... Traffic is bad coming home usually I dont know why... We go any week day but this summer have run into a lot of camps on Tuesday's which makes me think that is camp day... Definitely a do-able 1 day trip and my kids nap in stroller if they are really tired...
