Ladies with GD - come in! Post your daily levels...
Hi ladies,
Two weeks ago I was diagnosed with GD. I was really upset. But I took it as an opportunity to radically change my diet and get healthy!
Today I met with my endocrinologist for the first time, and started testing my blood.
I don't l know if my levels are too low or not...
Fasting: 67 (endo said that was really great!) Breakfast: 89 Lunch :96
She said fasting should be below 90 and all meals should be under 120.
But are mine too low?

Re: Ladies with GD - come in! Post your daily levels...
my sheet said fasting should be under 95, and 2 hrs after meals should be under 120.....
I then read online that fasting should not be under 70 with or without diabetes?
I've been getting frustrated cause my fasting has been 97-103 - not 95 & under......
my food readings have been around 105 or 115.... there were a couple meals where they were under 95(which frustrated me cause my fasting hasn't gotten that low) and a couple of 140's( I ate bread carbs)

I had GD with PG#3. Your numbers are perfect! Fasting I had to be under 90. 2 hours after every meal, I had to be between 80-120. there were a few times I was actually at 70-something and they said that was ok as well.

Thanks ladies! I wasn't sure.
Do you eat at the same time everyday? Right now I'm not working (teacher off for summer), so I'm not on a strict schedule. Will it affect my numbers if I don't eat at the same time everyday?

No, just try to stick to the foods that work for you. I always notice that when I incorporate a protein with a carb/sugar, it somehow brings my levels down a bit. Try to stay away from full carb foods like cereal, bagels. Believe it or not ice cream is a great snack at night. The milk, fat and protein all seem to keep the sugars in check. I think Breyers has the least amount of sugars/carbs per serviing. Stay within that serving (usually a 1/2 cup) and you can enjoy some ice cream
but your numbers look great. You want to control it as best you can with diet alone and avoid taking insulin, if you can. I take it 3x a day and while it sucks it's not the worst thing in the world. You actually get used to it

Just recently started this. So far, I am generally 80s fasting and 90s 2 hours after a meal. This morning I got a 96 fasting and retook it right away and it was 84. Anyone else notice these meters aren't very accurate?
