My FET Consult...

So I just couldnt wait and the day I had my beta which I new would be negative I made an appt for a FET consult...at first I was told that maybe I would need to wait which was really hard to consider but thankfully I dont have to...so Dh & I met with Dr. San Roman...and I had a bunch of questions...I know he couldnt answer why it didnt work but he basically said that IVF gives you a 60% shot so its a little better than a coin flip and we just were not lucky this time...he also thought that with an E2 level of over 5,000 my uterus may not have been as receptive to implantation...I guess I am lucky like that Chat Icon...so basically he asked when I wanted to start and I said immediately...we went over our embryos and he recommends putting 2 back...DH is a bit nervous but the dr. even said it gives us the best chance since they are frozen...so I go back tomorrow for a sonogram to see if I have any cysts and if my E2 is normal then I can start the FET protocol...I am so happy to be able to jump right back into it so I guess I will start a FET journal and hopefully that will result in our happy ending

Re: My FET Consult...

Good luck getting started!!!! I was always the same way with wanting to get started immediately after a failure. In fact, the very day we confirmed my last miscarriage, we called up Dr.B to schedule a surrogacy consult.

Out of curiosity, are the embryos vitrified there? I only ask because that gives you the same success rate as a fresh Chat Icon

That's great news- I am currently doing a FET cycle too. It's a breeze compared to a fresh cycle!

My FET Consult...

e2 over 5000 is known to lower implantation rates. it worked for me but its def a known issue. i actually wonder if the high e2 somehow effected implantation causing my third trimester complications (i had other risk factors so ill never know). some REs wont even transfer if e2 is over 5k.

hopefully that's all it was and you will have a successful FET. if it were me i would ABSOLUTELY not even hesitate and transfer 2. thats what i did with my fresh and one took and became my Chat Icon and the other implnated but was blighted ovum and never developed past a sac. ill never know which was the "good" embryo, both were the highest quality day 5 blasts. from that experience i usually say go for 2 (although now that i have a baby i cant really imagine twins and taking care of two at a time Chat Icon ). but i would still most likely put two back.

ive also read research showing that FETs with vitrified embryos can sometimes be MORE successful than a fresh cycle with high e2, specifically because the body is given time to recover from the IVF meds and stims, and the uterus is less inflamed and more hospitable to implantation.

good luck!!!

My FET Consult...

Well it had gone down to 1000 when I went in 2 days after the ET so its hard to tell...I guess we will know some more once we do the FET since I wont have a high e2 level...the quality is not as high as what we transferred since they are full blasts and not expanded or hatching...Hoping that this is it

After they are thawed for the next transfer, they can wait for them to expand. At least I believe that to be the case Chat Icon Regardless, I never transferred back expanded or hatching blasts and I got pregnant.
