Taking off work?
I’m 16 weeks and have only taken off 1 day so far-that was at the beginning when I had spotting and had to go to the OB. This morning I woke up with horrible cramps and decided to just lay in bed & relax and take my time coming into work. I feel better now; but I was tempted to just stay home. I’m due in January and just thinking or the possible snow storms or really bad weather days when I’m 9 months pregnant that I’d like to save my days for. But I understand that if I’m not feeling good now I shouldn’t push myself or over do anything if I'm not feeling well.
I know each person is different; but I was just wondering how many days have you taken off from work for your pregnancy so far?

Re: Taking off work?
In total I think I took 3 -4 sick days. I am 40 wks 4 days now and just started maternity leave. IMPO, if you need a day, take it.

Taking off work?
if you have the days to take and you feel you need to stay home...do it. listen to your body - a day of rest is def sometimes necessary

Re: Taking off work?
None... i have left early or came in late for Dr's appointments.. but that's about it. I have only taken off 3 days so far this year, but they were not pregnancy related

Taking off work?
If you have the days, take em! I'm almost 36 weeks & have only taken 1 day in Feb for a funeral, & 1 day in June to take DH to the ER (we thought it was appendicitis). I wish I could have taken more - I'm feeling burnt out... but i need them for maternity leave...

Taking off work?
I haven't taken any sick days. I have been pretty lucky and had a good pregnancy. I am saving them for my leave since I don't get paid.

Re: Taking off work?
I have had terrible all day sickness but had not given in to taking off. Friday at 10 weeks, I woke up with the worse nausea and a terrible sinus headache and did not sleep at all the night before. I knew I had a slow day at work so I gave in and called in sick.

Re: Taking off work?
0 sick days so far. I too was in the mentality to try to save days for the end (except vacation) and am glad I have them now b/c the third trimester is kicking my a$$. I have a feeling I'll be using them in the last weeks before maternity leave.

Re: Taking off work?
So far I've taken 4-5 days off for various reasons though. I'd rather save my days for when I'm out on maternity leave. Unless the doctor orders you to take it easy or bed rest, if you could, try to take your time coming in to work and save your days for January when its super cold and snowy and the best time to stay home while 9 months pregnant.

Re: Taking off work?
I worked from home one day and have come in late/left early for drs appts.
Do what you have to do to feel well and don't feel guilty about it. Your baby and your health is what's most important. Is working from home an option for you?

Taking off work?
I work part time but I haven't taken any days and won't if I can help it. I want to save any time so I can get full pay while on maternity leave. My employer is not at all friendly about sick calls and I don't have the option of going in late. If your employer doesn't mind I would stay home when needed if you can.

Re: Taking off work?
Last pregnancy ZERO and i was due in April and we had a TON of snow storms, but my boss didnt make me use a sick day...just told me to not come in bc he said he would have felt WORSE if something happened to me than to just pay me for the day.
This pregnancy I took off one day bc i was in the ER the day before. I dont plan on taking anymore unless im this baby with only 7 weeks left!

Re: Taking off work?
I haven't taken any whole days off, I've left early or come in late one or two times. But if you feel you need the day off take it, don't make yourself go in if your not feeling well.
