Possibly switching OBs for the 2nd time...
I am so upset because I really loved my doctor when I met her (Sylvia Tufano in Port Jeff) But when I went for the U/S she wasn't there, and I didn't really like the Nurse practitioner because she gave me NO information... didn't tell me the heart rate, the size, didn't give me a picture of it, and blatantly said to me "sometimes when it's your first time being pregnant, your body doesn't know what it is so it just gets rid of it" and shrugged her shoulders like "oh well!" while I was sitting there in TEARS.
Every other person I talked to said they should have done blood tests and monitored my HCG levels and I just felt like I totally got the runaround! So when I called back to ask questions (THREE TIMES) No one ever returned my phone call. :( I am so upset. This office had glowing recommendations and I am really disappointed.
Any other recommendations in the north shore/central suffolk area (who deliver at St. Charles?)

I don't have a recommendation for you, but I just wanted to say that I think it would benefit you to find a new dr who you're comfortable with. That NP sounds AWFUL!

Dr. Tufano was amazing in our first appointment. But I feel like they never let me see her or talk to her. Why don't doctor's have voicemail? I don't trust these girls at the front desk who I've left THREE messages with.

You should try stonybrook obgyn.i have such a wonderful experience with them. Nurses always call me back and righ on point if I need them to fax something or call my pharmacy for a description. I never ever have issues with them. They are soooo awesome you won't be disappointed. Let me know if you want any more info

Stonybrook obgyn delivers at St. Charles? I like that they have a rocky point location because I'm in miller place. I may have to check them out.
I am still keeping my ultrasound appt for Wed but I am just really annoyed that they wouldn't call me back. Especially after I left the office in tears after my first US. Obviously I am worried and they just ignore my phone calls. I don't like that. I need a place that will allow me to have more communication with my doctor. I understand they are busy but all I needed was 2 minutes. I am going to rip them a new one when I call again tomorrow!

Yes - Stony Brook OBGYN delivers at Stony Brook and St Charles - I have been a patient of theirs for over 15 yrs and they are all AWESOME (Dr Porte is my favorite) And what you need and DESERVE is 2 minutes of the Dr's time - you will def get it from them! Possibly switching OBs for the 2nd time...
definately switch..... you need to feel comfortable....... I had that with the first OB years ago the dr didn't handle my mc well, brushed things off, and the office was impossible to reach by phone too.....
my dr always says the heartrate...... and usually I get pictures.

Whoa, she said that? Talk about lack of bedside manner. I can highly suggest. Dr. Gustavo Sanroman in Port Jefferson. They deliver to St. Charles. Every single person from the girls at the desk, to sonographers and doctors are amazing!

I also go to Stonybrook OB/GYN and have for years!! I see Julie Welischar in the Rocky Point Location. Since I also live in Miller Place
but you have to go to the setauket location for ultrasounds.
