Baby Shower Times question
I'm helping plan my own shower and am having major frustrations with it.
because of scheduling issues, we only have one day - a Sunday to do it but i just spoke with my mom who said that she's working that morning and wouldn't be available until 1:30 or 2pm (that's the earliest we could start).
i feel like that's a really crappy time to have a Sunday shower - it's too late for lunch and too early for dinner - and people will be antsy to go home rather than "waste" their entire day on a shower.
so tell me the truth - am i being ridiculous or is 2pm start time ok for a shower?
oh, one more question - would it be better if it were a tea party shower? that way, it's more casual food / less pressure for it to be a meal?
thanks (and sorry for my ramblings)

Baby Shower Times question
I personally don't think its too late. Don't forget some people go to church on Sunday so maybe they would prefer a later start

Re: Baby Shower Times question
The tea party idea is cute!
If you are doing at a house there is no issue with the time. If it's at a restaurant they like to keep set times

Baby Shower Times question
I think that time is fine. It's not too early for church goers and anyone who might have been out late the night before, and since most showers are about 3 or 4 hours, it will be over in plenty of time for anyone who wants to get home early if they have work the next morning.

Baby Shower Times question
If you choose to start it at 2, definitely include what will be served on the invitation. Otherwise people won't know whether to come hungry or get up and eat in the morning. Tea party is a nice idea -- I'd picture finger sandwiches, smaller appetizers, and desserts that way.
You have to do what works with your life. If mom has to work, you work around it. Don't worry whether some people are annoyed. But they shouldn't be anyway.

Re: Baby Shower Times question
I think the time is just fine. I don't think it matters what type of food you have. I know I would just not eat lunch at home and wait until the party.

Baby Shower Times question
2:00 is fine, but I would still serve a meal. People will come to a baby shower expecting to eat, no matter what the start time.
