Cramps - Another question
Anyone else have them? and i'm not talking about early early on, like 5-8 weeks.
I had cramps all during the first few weeks, 5-7 weeks at least. not constant but every once in awhile, at least once a day. i was told it was normal. then they stopped. I am 11 weeks now and they just started again. not all the time but every once in a while i will have them for a few hours (not like a constant pain) and then they will go away. Ex: i had them two days ago at night before i went to sleep, but then they went away. I've had them since this moring, about 2 hours now and every once in awhile i will feel a twinge.
Is this still my uterus stretching? normal? this is my first pregnancy if that matters.
Thanks!

Cramps - Another question
I've had cramps on and off throughout my entire pregnancy. I remember around 12 weeks I started having them a little more often.

Cramps - Another question
does it have to be water or can it be any type of fluid? sounds stupid i know...but just thought i'd ask. I'm not a big soda drinker but am big on juices and iced teas.

Re: Cramps - Another question
I have them now at 24 weeks. They came and went my entire pregnancy so far. I get checked every 2 weeks so I know it's ok, but my dr said if I get any cramping that is different than what I've had to call.

Cramping is normal, but shouldn't last that long. I sometimes get them if I stand up too quickly.
Cramps are a sign of dehydration. I was told if I get cramps to stop whatever I'm doing and drink 2-3 cups of water. I had it once or twice and the water helped.
Water is best but you can drink other things like juice or seltzer. Be careful of too many juices and iced teas, though, b/c they have a lot of sugar (and calories!!). Also, most iced teas have caffeine which you should be limiting as much as possible.

That sounds like round ligament pain. Its like a sharp shooting muscle pain? I get that if I move too quickly or roll over i bed. I also get other cramps that are just annoying like achey or AF cramps. Those can be from dehydration. I think round ligament just happens.

Re: Cramps - Another question
Are the cramps like menstrual cramps or like a sharp pulling pain? The sharp pulling pain is your uterus stretching called Round ligament pain and the menstrual cramp feeling i had this whole pregnancy up until about 28 weeks and then started again now at 32 weeks.

Cramps - Another question
i get both. i get the crampy, AF type of cramps but no where near as bad as they are when you get AF. just like a much less noticeable crampy feeling. They don't feel sharp or anything like that so that's why i don't think its my uterus. I also get the round ligament pain, but not as often, just sometimes when i get up too fast or when i roll over in bed

Yup-I have a very high King size bed; and sometimes I get a painful cramp getting in/out of the bed.
