Would you get a 2nd opinion?
The past few visits to my re on day 3 the nurse points out I have a cyst. Today the nurse that did the sono seemed surprised by it and asked me if I had endometriosis. I said I think so but it was not confirmed by surgery. I talked to doc about it twice and he seems to believe I have it based on cyst and amt of pain I get from period. He does not see need to do a laporoscy and that confuses me. He says cyst too small to operate by endo is more than cysts and what if it is severe. I just feel confused bc I know endo can cause infertility so shouldnt we know for sure???? I go to rsony and while I really like my doc I always feel overwhelmed there and nervous to speak up. Thanks!!!!

While I can't relate to your specific situation, I WILL say that for SURE if you are feeling overwhelmed and uncomfortable speaking up, you should absolutely find a place that's a better fit for you. This is a rough, emotionally draining process. At very least, you want to make sure the communication is good!

I go to RSofNY as well, in Mineola. DO NOT be afraid to speak up, ask questions and get answers. When you go tell the nurse you want to speak to a doctor...I see Dr. Saketos every time I go there --I dont even have to ask to see a dr. bc they know I want to...tell the doctor you need an answer, please make a game plan and start asap since you want to be pregnant and not wait any longer.
Good Luck!!!!!

A 2nd opinion definitely couldn't hurt. And you may find a dr that you like better in the process.
Good luck!

I agree with the PP! Also, I was sometimes symptomatic of endo with cysts, pain, etc. After a couple of failed cycles we did a lap.

Re: Would you get a 2nd opinion?
I had a lap to rule out endo. My dx is unexplained infertility. My mom had severe endo and while I didn't show any signs (no painful periods, cysts, etc.), my RE wanted to do the lap just to rule it out and make sure all was clear.
As it turned out, I had very mild endo which he scraped. He said that was not the reason I wasn't getting pregnant. I'm glad I had it done otherwise I would've always wondered. I would definitely speak to your dr about it or get another opinion. GL!
