Lake Compounce
Any info on this? It's located in CT and was wondering if the trip was worth it. Also if you had any hotel recommendation.

We might go this week. If we do I will report back. There is a Fairfield Inn in Bristol that has good reviews

Re: Lake Compounce
I went a couple years ago as a chaperone with the HS band from the school where I teach. We were on our way to Massachusettes for a competition and had some time so the band director decided to stop there.
I can tell you that it's not great for older kids. The HS kids were bored in a matter of hours. From what I remember, there's a waterpark section that seemed decent. It was rainy the day we went so we didn't use it. There were a couple of....umm, for lack of a better term...interesting games to play. One game had you pull a string and win whatever prize it was attached to. Another game booth had yellow rubber ducks floating and if you chose two with the same symbol or color under them, you won a prize.
That was probably three or four years ago now so it might have changed slightly.
Good Luck!

Re: Lake Compounce
I have gone the past two years with my boys. I think it's awesome for younger kids. They have a large kiddy area, a decent little water section and a nice lake beach. It's also really clean with free sodas throughout the park. It isn't great for older kids/teens because there aren't a lot of thrill rides. Two wood coasters and one upside down one. I never stay overnight, so I can't give a recommendation for hotels.

Thank you all. My girls are 3 and 5, so they should have fun. Just didn't know if it was worth the 2 1/2 hours ride there.

I think for this ages, the drive is definitely worth it. They are open for a short day, I think it's like 11am-8pm. You can easily do it in a day and skip the hotel and save the money.

We ended up going today. We took the 9am ferry from Port Jeff, and we were at the park by 11:10. I prefer the ferry than dealing with the NYC area traffic. It's expensive, but tolls and gas probably come close. The drive is about 55 minutes from the ferry terminal. Great little park! Not huge, but we stayed the entire day and had a great time. The waterpark area is nice, and the beach area was nice, but the water was closed for swimming. The park is VERY clean and very family friendly. They are operated by the same company as Dutch Wonderland. Def. recommend it!
Oh, and we stayed overnight at the Fairfield Inn in Plainville, and it's very nice and updated. We were upgraded to a suite, which was nice. The free breakfast is great, and the pool is VERY small, but kids don't know the difference. Checkout time is 12 so you can eat, swim then head back home Or there is a cute museum nearby, Kidcity, we might check that out before we head back.

Not sure if you know this, but 3 and under are free. I didn't see that information on their website at all, only at the gate. We ended up going to the Kidcity museum in Middletown, and it was so fun! My kids really enjoyed it. Very interactive, and lots to do for them there! It's $8 per person to get in, but well worth it.

We just bought the tix online yesterday and I did see kids under 3 are free. Did you book the hotel with time or did you just decide to stay overnight once you arrived?

I booked the hotel the night before. But I am a Marriott rewards member, so I used points to make it free, and didn't need to worry about the price going up, etc.

Re: Lake Compounce
We just went a few weeks ago. Def perfect for 3 and 5 year olds.
We stayed at Residence Inn in Southington. It was less than 10 min to the park.
